xbox one price cut should be permanent, damn those leakers but that usually happens when one gets the game too early.
yes. its enough
I dont understand why they keep running those 1080p stories. Has anybody ever bought a game because it's in 1080p?
Starting november 3rd will be the time folks to buy an xbox one console the price cut really helps us gamers that want to upgrade to the next gen console and what better way to welcome us then to do a price cut.
1080P is nice but if its 30FPS then its not very playable, I hope its 60FPS across both X1 PS4
I'm still waiting on next gen, but not for a price drop. I want a slim/revamped console with the improved parts that come with it, and a hard drive twice as big as what they offer now. I'm tired of having an inferior version of hardware as punishment for being an early adopter.
@youre_a_sheep Theyre not gonna revamp the console and beef up the specs buddy. U'll be waiting a long time if thats the case...
Jesus they can't give the xone away even if they tried.....
@mantiis @Brumbek it's not so obvious now, because each version for each console is optimized to look it's best. But when games really start to push the consoles to it's limits in a near future, it will be noticeable.
@TigusVidiks @mantiis @Brumbek Yea you should download unity 3.0 then delete your statement
Poor Sledghammer....they seem to have only discovered how the internet works.
GTA5 looks amazing!
I'm still amazed at that GTA V trailer. I eagerly anticipate the PC release--will hopefully have cleaned by plate sufficiently by then.
$20 says heists come out Friday.
Exactly.. ive been enjoying my eight core pc for almost a year and these consoles leave me believing if i just buy a wii u i will be well rounded out.. i dont care about destiny i want fun in a small package at this point it means mario, smash, kart, and all the glorious pc games i can handle.. still confused why next gen cant even pull off 1080p my pc does this just fine. Oo and the evil within on pc does not look like resi4. On pc it looks like a masterpiece well done! But i want the fun with the grotesque so i want a wii u.. gaming wise there is no reason to want to spend that money on a no game console..
@w1418826 You have no clue about gaming.
@w1418826 I bought a PS4 and I have a Wii U and gaming PC. Not sure what I was thinking. It never gets used...
A $50 price cut is not enough for me although it may be enough for some. I was thinking about it though, but have decided to take that $350 and put it towards a gaming PC. Perhaps once I have my PC XB1 will have more games and be more deserving of my money. Keep in mind, PC gaming Holiday sales will soon be upon us.
The PS4 is 41% more powerful than the XB1, mathematically speaking. Consider:
PS4 1.84 TeraFLOPS/s; XB1 1.31
PS4 176GB/sec of memory bandwidth; XB1 a weak 68.3GB/sec plus 32mb SRAM
XB1 wins the CPU clock at 1.75GHz; PS4 at 1.6GHz. So XB1 has a 10% advantage here.
When you run the math, PS4 has 40-41% faster render speed overall, even with XB1's faster CPU.
In practice we see this 40% performance difference: AC: Black Flag 900p on XB1 but 1080p on PS4, which means the PS4 renders 44% more pixels! Note: this 44% render difference applies to all 1080p vs 900p titles on the systems.
Conclusion, the XB1 should be discounted by the 40% performance difference compared to the PS4, which puts the XB1 around $280. Hence, the XB1 is still a bad value at $350. Ultimate conclusion: math is fun!
@Brumbek the memory bandwith is overkill on the ps4. It's like having a 6 foot wide waterway for a 3 foot wide boat. It doesn't do anything.
The xboxone at release reserved 10 percent for the kinect of the gpu and the esram wasn't used. They removed that reservation for the kinect and with the release of the esram tools the difference was not 900p vs 1080p anymore.
Black flag is one of those release games where the xboxone was still handicapped. Today this is not the case, gta V may be 1080 p on the ps4 but that doesn't mean it won't be on the xboxone.
the difference between the ps4 and xboxone is the difference between a hd 7850 and hd 7790. That isn't 900 vs 1080p but more like 1000p vs 1080p especially because of the esram and the faster cpu.
It's really not worth it, if you make a decision, find it what controller you like the most and what exclusives and that will be the right decision.
@evildead6789 Alright. But the math doesn't lie and neither does the real world game results. We will continue to see countless games at 1080p on PS4 and 900p on XB1 because the math can't lie.
The point is, why would I buy a weaker console when I could buy a more powerful one? If you think XB1 interface and game exclusives are worth the weaker console, then that is fine for you (Halo MC will no doubt be awesome). Those who simply want the best product will clearly choose the PS4, as the sales numbers bear out.
@Brumbek And what is your point about the console being able to offer slightly better visuals when the XB1 has the better exclusives and more games?? The PS3 was alot more powerful than the 360 but did it equate to a real world advantage?? No!! Lol your arguing about visuals that are barely noticeable! You have to literally pause the game and say "Look! you see the leaf right there it has a little more detail than the XB1 version!!" Yay!!! If that makes you feel better than go for it lol. Lets talk about all the other entertainment things that the XB1 can do that the almighty PS4 simply cant do. And didnt Ryse win the "Best Looking Game" award??? Besides lets not act like either one of these consoles are graphic powerhouses....
@Brumbek Nice "on paper" explanation. Doesn't mean much for real world performance. This is the same sales drivel that Sony has been using to boast PS4 as a super computer, whilst trying to make XB1 look like a pocket calculator. People who buy XB1 aren't buying it versus a PS4 because of a 40% lack of power, which they, incidentally, fail to see in-game in real-time. No, they are buying XB1 for what it can do that PS4 doesn't or can't. They are also buying it for its games, both current and future. Both machines are closer in terms of tech than farther apart- I'm sick of saying it. This "40%" advantage is minutiae. Do people play Black Flag on XB1 and point to the screen and say "ewwww, 900p! I gonna go buy a PS4,"? No, they don't. Why? Because its not so obvious. Matter of fact its downright impossible to perceive. There will be plenty of games running on 1080p in XB1's future for those who care. Take MC Collection to start. Any good tech minded shopper knows that these kind of numbers do not warrant a champion from either camp- both are mid-low end PC's from four years ago. It really comes down to the games. Always has, always will. I don't know what your trying to prove, maybe your just trying to justify your purchase. If it was all about specs on paper- then my Chicago Bears should be the top team in the NFL! $350 for an XB1 is a great deal and worth every cent. Now go back and play some Destiny, I'll continue to wait for Halo.
@mantiis @Brumbek Mantis: my explanation wasn't just on paper. I proved it with Black Flag. I can also prove it with Lords of the Fallen, releasing today, after the XB1 update that frees up more memory for games. I can also prove it with countless other titles in development. The math doesn't lie and the real world results don't lie.
Also, just because you can't see the difference between 900p and 1080p doesn't mean the difference isn't significant. Firstly, I personally doubt you've ever compared two images side by side of 900p upscaled to 1080p and true 1080p. Google the results and you'll very, VERY clearly see the difference.
Also, you were doing well in at least trying to rationally debate...then you had to devolve into console fanboi flaming. Bad mantiis!
@mantiis @Brumbek It's not even nice on paper, really.
@mantiis @Brumbek Total man for me it the xbox one interface and feature such as snap. I also love the fact that when I'm curious about buying a game, I can search it on xbox store and the app provide gameplay video from either twitch or upload studio. I didn't think I would care for xbox record that feature but I find myself using it everyday to record the bs of Destiny, and all my drifting on Forza horizon 2. I feel sorry for people judging based on resolution when microsoft is creating a API that going to bring a whole slate of tool that will help the dev to create more enrich worlds. Utilizing tool such as Cloud Computing and Tile Resourcing. I'm reading that microsoft maybe getting a real time ray tracing. follow links to learn more.
@Brumbek no I doubt most people enjoy math. 40% seems like a lot if that's what it actually comes down to but it's not enough to make a big difference in the visual experience.
@bigruss51 @Brumbek Well ignorance is bliss. When we gamed on SNES at 240p we thought that looked good. But why limit ourselves if we can do better? Hence, why XB1 had to drop its price...nobody wants to buy an inferior product when a better one exists for the same price.
@Brumbek Ladies and Gentlemen....Dr. Sheldon Cooper
$50 price cut?..nope.. $100 maybe...I will. Not enough games on XB1 that Im interested in yet. :P
@superbuuman very true. there's still no reason to buy a console but playstation looks more promising.
@bigruss51 @superbuuman More promising? Enjoy that little big planet.
@chippiez @bigruss51 @superbuuman im sure they wil LBP is awesome
Love her shirt :)
@tempertress @hystavito @cholojones @TimberWolf_CLT feel better *thumbs up*
@Lace3 @tempertress @hystavito @cholojones @TimberWolf_CLT and you better finish every last one of those penicillin pills! :)
so wait, i couldnt find any questions related to mine, but does the call of duty bundle have same price cuts as the others? 350? and 450 with kinect? or is it it's own separate entity?
@Lace3 All of the bundles get 50 off. This includes the COD bundle.
I would love an XBox One if it came bundled with Fortza Horizon, Sunset Overdrive, and maybe Forza 5.
I have enough games already. I'm not going to repeat the same insanity I did with last generation, plus I'm busy doing other things outside of gaming.
Great show. Thank you Jess. You're the best. I hope you feel better.
Give that cat lots of pets and lots of love.
Give those significant others lots of love and be a good receiver of love--it strengthens your immune system, you heal quicker, you're happier, oxytocin and vasopressin increase, and cortisol decreases.
Need a new PC... but PS4 is so much cheaper... And I'd be able to play GTAV in a couple weeks... But master race... but cheaper... But free online... But Silent Hills... But nearly 100 Steam games already... But Bloodborne... But Steam sales.......... I'll make a decision when I have the money for a PS4.
@macklin_ If it means anything- my PC outperforms all of the console offerings this generation, yet- I hit the 360 or XB1 more than anything else, with a little sprinkling of PS3 and Vita. I have to get in the mood for a PC game to go to my desk and fire it up. I know a lot of people are like this. Unless, you know you will be constantly drawn to the PC everytime you need a gaming fix- I would hold off. Still, the PC is the best overall value.
@macklin_ Sounds like it's gonna be a ps4. No patients in you. You will not be a traitor to the master race if you buy a ps4 then a pc down the line.
She has half the world at her command under her Temptress / Tempertress spell. Someday she'll rule the word and everyone will call her 'Queen'.
@SaintsRowLA @hystavito @rawkstar007 Ok... Meanwhile, back in reality...
