GS News Top 5 - Wii U is selling, Watch Dogs delayed and RE7 is happening?!

Everytime I hear news of a new Resident Evil-game, I get mixed emotions: firstly, I love(d) the Resident Evil game-series, but after the RE6, I was devestated. I cancelled my pre-order and replayed "Resident Evil: Code Veronica" for my Dreamcast...yes, I still own one.

Secondly, I -still- have hopes for the series to pick-up again and return to its survivor horror roots.

3DS used Mario 3D Land and Ocarina of Time to boost sales. Wii is using Mario 3D World and Wind Waker to boost sales. Seems like a winning strategy.

After a long time I decided to buy a Wii U and I have to say I was hating on it for all the wrong reasons. Sure the only thing that was correct was the lack of games but that's changing now and I'm really enjoying myself playing it. Really looking forward to Super Mario 3D World, the new Mario Kart and the new Donkey Kong!

It's pretty sad, that only thing that selling WiiU is HD port of the old game. Guess it proves that Nitendo isnt what it used to be.

I enjoyed RE4, RE5, RE Revelations and RE6 so I can't wait for RE7 on next gen. Speaking of next gen, "Watch Dogs" was my system seller and now that it is delayed, I am delaying my next gen system purchases. Killzone and Dead Rising 3 are not enough for me to shell out $900 and I can play ACIV, COD Ghosts and Batman AO on my PS3, WiiU or Xbox 360. Not to mention that GTAV, Beyond: Two Souls, Rayman Legends, Rain, Pikmin 3, Sonic: Lost World and The Wonderful 101 are already out. And Super Mario 3D World and DKC: Tropical Freeze are coming. I'll wait until next year when next gen delivers "Watch Dogs", "Dying Light", "inFAMOUS: Second Son", "The Evil Within", "Resident Evil 7" and "Doom 4".

Resident Evil will most likely never return to it's true form because Mikami who created Resident Evil isn't with Capcom anymore, it's really that simple.

685% times zero is still zero

The reason Wii U sales have risen almost 700% is because they've been abysmal before now. They really only had two options of where the system was going to go. It was either going to fail completely and disappear or the sales would increase. But even a 685% increase still really isn't that many for the system as its still a market confused product with no real games to attract people to buy.

Heard: "Xb1 named breakthrough product." Thought: "wow, maybe it's better than I believed."

Heard: "the magazine singles out the kenict camera's capabilities." Thought: "Nope."

I'll never argue that the X1 didn't innovate. It certainly is doing things that have never been done before (or at least to that level of complexity). However, those aren't things that I want. For example, it will be very innovative when we invent a car that can drive itself, but I enjoy driving so I don't want to pay 25% more for a feature that I just don't want.

What I do want is a box with plenty of horsepower and a good software lineup. I'll admit, PS4's software is lacking right now, but in time I think it will improve. I do think the X1 fits the description of what I want, but I feel like MS has shown their true colors with their pre-180 policies and, because of that, I don't want to put my money in their pockets. I know Sony is greedy too (all companies are), but at least they didn't have the audacity to tell me the freedoms they would be taking away from me and essentially telling me that it's for my own good.

Without Watch Dogs, its tough for anyone to give a reason to get a PS4 other than some better graphics. Xbox One is the big new thing and everyone is starting to realize it, keep hating Sony fanboys!

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Wii-U makes a comeback this holiday season, it actually has more positive public feedback than the X1 right now which means it's second choice for a lot of people who won't be able to get a PS4.

Still the Wii-U really needs more good games, it's been around how long and still doesn't have enough great games to warrant a purchase, at least for me.

Who wants a rushed game, lets have the full polished thing out first time rather than constant add ons.

I really do hope they go back to the roots of Resident Evil. Resident Evil 6 was the biggest letdown ever. Leon's story was good, Ada's story was good, Chris' story was good but the gameplay wasn't, & Jake's story was ass. So Capcom, shady business practices aside (on-disc dlc), I'll give you guys one last chance to make a good Resident Evil game. You say your going back to the roots. Ok. I'm onboard. But this is your last chance. Now if only we could get you guys to remake Resident Evil 2 just like Resident Evil on the GameCube...

To the thing with Watch Dogs... I would much rather have a high quality game that they took their time with than a mediocre one they rushed out the door.

Wii U sales... whoa. I knew theyd go up when it had a Zelda or Mario title but 685% just for a re-release of wind waker? That's impressive...

About MS... lol. I have suspicions that Microsoft paid them off to say that in their magazine. Maybe not it just sounds like something they'd do.

I haven't even played a Resident Evil game since Code Veronica.

I do think the Xbox deserves its title. People may not like Microsoft and the Kinect might be overall useless to most but having Infra Red cameras and heart beat monitors on your console are pretty awesome. Anything that can passively monitor "things" about your person and translate them into the game without you having to wave your arms around to do it, is perfectly fine by me.

Take your time UBS - make the game right. Now, what would be sad, is if it stills ends up sucking after this delay :p.

MS and PM mag comment - an accolade? Not so much IMO.

How about this, let the fans and gamers be the judge of what system shines or not or deserves any laurels.
