Graphics Comparison: The Last Of Us Remastered PS3 Vs. PS4

It looks like Square needs to teach Naughty Dog how to remaster a game for current gen. Comparing this to Tomb Raider Definitive makes ND look pretty pathetic.

Hell i'll take the upgrade in framerate, the ps3 version got into the low 20's maybe high teens. Locked 60 good aa and the dlc im in. I bought it for ps3 got half way through the game then my ps3 80gig fat ylod, bought a 320 gig second gen but never finished it. Thought i would wait for this version.

Incredible game but not much point buying it again for PS4 if you've already played it - I'd rather buy a new game instead for inevitably what will be the same price as LoU remastered. Perfect for people new to Playstation though and they might chuck in the DLC with the game for no additional cost

This article is biased, theres no way that LoU is so blurry in ps3...

I don't remember the PS3 version being that blurry either. It's a decent texture update, like going from medium textures to high is all.

Looks good to me... Reminds me of parts of the game I loved, makes me want to consider buying it again.

Really i cannot see the difference, will maybe there is a 0.005% difference...?

Admit so many people are saying it wasn't that blurry! PS4 looks better in colors and sharper and better materials still PS3 is amazing console in terms of quality!

honestly i think its a little bit BS, the PS3 was not as blurry as they are showing lol

will i get it on PS4, dont think i will as i finished the game on Hard in my first run and loved every second of it. Will people who have not played the game, ie all the 360 owners who switched to PS4 buy it, most definitely as thats who its really made for.

So, like I hypothesized in my post yesterday...

Sony said today that 1/3 of PS4 owners owned Wii or X360 last gen. That's why TLOU is getting remastered -- a large number of PS4 owners never had a chance to play the original. This isn't the "blatant cash grab" that so many people have said. Instead, Sony wants TLOU to become a franchise, but before they can justify that continued expense, they need to get visibility of the first game up on PS4.

Granted, I think the above video unfairly undermines what looked pretty darn good on PS3, but doesn't make much difference to me... and I'm not really the market for this remaster

NO WAY THE PS3 VERSION IS THIS BAD... WOW this is ridiculous, the PS3 game is almost identical to the PS4 version.

I ran this video on my 80" TV on one input and booted the game up on my PS3 on an other. The actual PS3 game looked nearly identical to the PS4 version in the video.

I mist add i do have various Video processors in my home theater set up such as the Mavell QDEO, HQV Vida and the Darbee which aid in reducing blur and artifacts while adding more depth and sharpness. But i run it through all my inputs so both souses should have been affected by this so it is null and void.

Tis tis tis whoever made this video and crippled the PS3 version.

That blurryness was for the sake of the video only. I have the game on my PS3 and it's not as blurry as they show it there

Gimmicks…If you have already played this game for the PS3 or own it, why would you buy it again for the PS4 with slight graphic updates…even at a discounted price. Seems foolish.

Hmmm. I've played through TLOU several times on PS3... and I *swear* it's not as blurry as this...

meh.............expected more, still going to get it though because I love the last of us and the DS4 controller

So remastered means increasing the resolution? As far as i can tell they increased the resolution from 720p to 1080p. Ofcourse it looks alot better on higher resolution, but it's nothing special. I hope they don't charge full price for this, because they didn't seem to have put alot of work in the remastering of the PS 3 version.

this is exaggeration, TLOU is not this blurry on the ps3. Hell, Im playing with it right now, I can compare the ps4 version with my own tv screen, and of course its not that good, but not as bad as it shows in the comparison video. For the love of god, dont do this just to get more sells, people who loved it will buy it again anyway , and people who havent played it yet, will definetely buy the ps4 version so why do such thing?

What is different apart from resolution? I can't spot anything. I was expecting uber lighting effects and stuff.

This also highlights one thing. I played and finished this only this week. At no point while I was playing it, On a 42 inch screen from four feet away no less, that it looked super blurry. Only when directly comparing the two like in this video does the difference show up.

So what is the point really?

Wow there really isn't much difference is there, was it even upgrading, they might aswel of just thrown the ps3 version on it, i'll get it tho just for the collection as i've sold all my ps3 stuff. it's hard press to really tell which is the better one lol, and why are they comparing some of the key moments in the last of us, jesus the whole point is to allow people who never played the game a go and comparisons with major parts is a bit of a let down to be fair

This game should be free for people who bought it digital for PS3 and haven't finished it (which is me cuz of no time), but now I own PS4 and want it to play at higher resolution to have more incentive to finish it but nooo PSN is PSN!!! I bought it there and paid full price so why !!when I spent more money for Sony to buy PS4 I can't play it at better graphics when I already paid full price for the game ...its bull !!and money grab to pay for same game just for visuals.

I played this on PS3, so will not be getting it just for the upgrade. If you have a PS4 though and did not play this yet; this is one of the best games ever made.

I'll get this for the playstation 4 that I got for free, that I hook up to the XBOXs hdmi pass through...so when I say "XBOX go to TV", it switches to PS4. hm, irony.

Higher resolution and textures by the looks of it.

Sadly I missed out on PS3, because I sold my PS3 to buy a PS4 just before this come out.

Now I will finally be able to play it!
