Episode 5 Update (5/12): In Game of Thrones Season 8, Episode 5, "The Bells," Cersei's fate was sealed.
"The Valonqar" prophecy reaches a fascinating conclusion in Season 8, Episode 5, the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones. Between bloodbaths and hotly anticipated conflicts, this was not one to be missed.

Things start to go wrong very quickly for Cersei. Dany rains fire down on both her city and her hopes of winning the final battle for the Iron Throne. She ultimately makes her escape through the crumbling Red Keep alongside The Mountain and Qyburn. After Qyburn (fairly stupidly) tries to order The Mountain to stay with Cersei, the towering bodyguard refuses, killing him and leaving his queen to have his own epic Season 8 battle moment. This is where she runs into Jamie, her younger brother who had cut ties with Jon and Dany in order to return to Cersei.
They try to make their escape through the tunnels underneath the fortress but it is too late. The siblings, trapped by rubble in the underbelly of the Red Keep, must face that their time is just about up. As is prophesied, Jamie raises his hands to her face (though, not her throat as is theorised) and tells her that nothing matters except for them. As Olenna Tyrell put it when speaking to Jamie in Season 7, "She'll be the end of you." And in a way, he was the end of her, though she does not die by his hands.

There are only two episodes of Game of Thrones left, but one thing is for sure: Before Season 8 (and the show overall) end, more people are going to die. Season 8 spoilers ahead.
One name in particular that you'd think is likely to end up dead is Cersei Lannister; with the White Walkers defeated, she is now the chief antagonist of the series. And there are many ways to imagine she could go, whether it's Arya checking a name off of her list or Dany and Drogon roasting her. One long-running theory involves the Valonqar prophecy, which was revealed early on in the series. While not identical to the version from the books, it serves as a life-long motivation for Cersei, who thinks Tyrion will kill her. But with Jaime headed south from Winterfell, she might be mistaken.
