Fortnite Season 4 has kicked off with the meteor finally hitting Battle Royale's map and absolutely decimating Dusty Depot. The newly named Dusty Divot is now home to a large crater, where you'll be able to find Hop Rocks that allow you to jump much higher (and slower) than usual. There are also signs of the meteor strike across the map, though nothing quite as severe as Dusty Divot's crater.
Season 4 also adds the new Risky Reels area, which is a drive-in theatre. Additionally, more than 100 new tiers of rewards are available, including new cosmetics, emotes, and more. Of course, you'll need to buy the Battle Pass to access most of them and be able to complete the Weekly Challenges. There's a lot more to the update, and we get into all of that in today's episode of GameSpot Daily. It's a live daily news show that brings you the biggest stories in 30 minutes or less.
In other news, Stardew Valley's latest beta is now available, and among the content it features is multiplayer. Players can now make their way through the game together, sharing and working on the same farm along the way. However, you'll still be able to have your own inventory, skills, and NPC relationships--if you want to marry your friend in-game, you can do that too. There's also a bunch of single-player content, but developer ConcernedApe is letting players discover it for themselves. I've seen some of it already, and to avoid spoilers, I'll just say it's absolutely fantastic.
Other stories we cover in today's episode include the latest Rainbow Six Siege patch, which nerfs two of the more frustrating characters: Lion and Blitz. Lion's player-detecting drone will see its charges decreased from three to two and its cooldown raised from 10 seconds to 20. Blitz, on the other hand, will see the charges for his Shield Flash decreased from five to four and his range decreased from eight meters to five. Jaeger and Vigil's operator-specific abilities also see changes, while Hibana and Ying have their gadgets switched up. We go into the rest of the most notable changes in the video above.
We also talk about The Simpsons creator's response to the controversy surrounding character Apu and our recent interview with No More Heroes creator Suda 51, who says if Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes is successful, he'll "go straight ahead and make No More Heroes 3 as well."
That's what you'll find in this episode, but be sure to tune in every day of the week at 11 AM PST/2 PM EST/7 PM BST/4 AM AEST for another episode of GameSpot Daily. We cover the most exciting gaming news in 30 minutes or less or Epic Games will send the next meteor straight for us.
