Yeah, I've bought a bunch of games on Steam I haven't played yet. However, I didn't buy them simply because they were on sale. I actually already wanted them. I added all the games into my wishlist and then I get notified when they're on sale and then I buy them. Simple. Easy. Save money. Get the games I want.
Now if only I had time to play them all...
Most of you will probably want to kill me, but these are some of the more popular games I've purchased that I still haven't played at all:
Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition
Mark of the Ninja
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed
and XCOM: Enemy Unknown
I know. I know. This is the curse that is the Steam sale. Knowing I already have them makes it so much worse.
@iBuSHiDo I didn't get Limbo yet. I should probably do something about that right now.
@iBuSHiDo Do yourself a favor and play Deus Ex already. Its one of the best games of this generation imo.

Deus EX and Crysis. You HAVE to play those two. They're just legendary. Don't worry Crysis has almost nothing in common with Crysis 2 and 3. You're gonna have fun.
@iBuSHiDo sonic racing transformed is amazing, i recommend playing that before anything else
touch the box art..rofl
I hope console gamers have as much fun touching their games as we have playing them.
"Steam does not have Kinect."
I died laughing. XD
sales are garbage now, they need to bring back the Summer Ticket Sale/Great Gift Pile (coal)
I have a tendency to buy games during a Steam sales because the deals are just too good to resist. I usually end up playing them for 10 minutes or so, then never touching the game again. Hell, I bought Allen Wake way back in the spring sale for $3 I believe...still haven't played it, lol.
@dono14 I loved Allen Wake. Great game if you like the horror genre.
I am just lost for words that anyone would even bother complaining about a epic game sale. Seriously, what has society become lol
17% discount on CoD Ghosts...lololol I'm not even kidding.
Yeah, I facepalmed too.
Love your show Johnny, it always makes me laugh. Keep it man!
For any nay-sayers, check out the spread sheet below of all the Steam games I've gotten over the years, it shows you how I would have spent at LEAST $2200 MORE on the same games if I paid CURRENT (not launch) retail price.
@IceDDZ You still have paid whatever $$$ you paid for those games. (I didn't click on your spreadsheet). Just because the games weren't the price they were at launch, doesn't take away from the fact that you are spending $. We are all guilty of spending more when we see a good sale. That was the point of some people "complaining" about Steam sales.
I have over 400 Steam games and a lot of them I bough impulsively due to great prices and never touched them or even installed them, lol.
It's kind of like grocery stores having buy 2 get 1 free sales. You still have to buy 2. Sigh, I think I'm drunk...lalalla.
@IceDDZ Is anyone else too suspicious that this is secretly a spreadsheet charting his masturbatory behaviour to click on it?
That was a funny episode!
About that boxart/touching comment. I saved every box, insert, instruction manual, jewel case, and promo card from every pc game I played back in the '90s thinking I'd make a bundle on Ebay in 20 years when people began to look back nostalgically at their youth. I thought wrong. The shipping would cost more than their worth!
Digital downloads are great but like "the_hunger" said, we need some competition to Steam or these great sales are going to be nothing but a fond memory. GOG (Good Old Games). Check it out.
Best episode yet. I absolutely loved the horrible play hahah.
I bought all the games I wanted during the last summer sale. There was nothing new here for autumn.
but still it's great for anyone else who missed out
Well that was unexpected.

@elegantspock You are our fearless leader. An inspiration to all trolls.
Haha, one of my favourites yet.
Loved the "play".
That acting was deliberately horrible, but because you guys have British accents it still seemed pretty good.
And that's why Hugh Grant isn't homeless right now.
@LokiHero @megagene isn't he?
Move along; nothing to see here, people. Just a long, flattering Steam commercial. I wish that they would do the same love-fest for Gog.com or some other company that has a bit more respect for customer ownership rights. Steam really could use some competition in the digital distribution market (besides EA).
Thought this episode was going to be kind of weak, but it ended up being pretty funny. I felt warm yet hopeless by the end though >.>
@MooncalfReviews @MateykoSlam i usually just play the games i buy....for both steam and console, am I doing this wrong ?
@alef321 @MooncalfReviews @MateykoSlam yes
Is this website Gamespot, or Valvespot? or maybe Gabe-spot, Valve did something? queue the angels and heralds! I swear, that company could write into their EULA a universal, i.e. male or female writ of prima nocta for GabeN and it would be hailed as a brilliant move.
@jpnelson82 Congratulations on another original insertcompanynamehere-spot reference. I didn't expect to see one today!
@jpnelson82 Obviously Gamespot is on Valve's paycheck...and if you ask me, it was about freaking time too, Valve is abit late with the pay compared to the other companies like EA, Bioware, Rockstar, etc, but better late than never.
@RicanV @Johny_47 It's called Welsh (Cymraeg) I'm sorry you didn't recognise it.
@RicanV @jpnelson82 @Johny_47 No you're not, I told you about the Welsh language, specifically regarding this guy (Johny_47), the other week.I'm on to you Rican, I suspect that you might be one of these "internet trolls" that I've heard about on the news....
@jpnelson82 @RicanV @Johny_47 I'm ignorant.
F**kin' cwyno eto.
Rwy'n cael fy lygad ar Dark Souls, rwy'n hoffi gwylio fy ffrind yn chwarae e ar ei ps3 lot.
Fi ddim ond yn eisiau chwarae Dark Souls gyda fy ffrind traws llwyfan. fi ar fy cyfrifiadur a fy ffrind ar ei ps3, cywilydd fod pethau fel hyn ddim yn gallu digwydd, byddai'n gwych.
@Johny_47 Somebody call a medic!
Enjoyed the Gamespot players. Not sure if randomly wandering microphone enhanced or detracted from the experience.
Here's some reason for you, Jonneh: You're getting fat. Are you binge eating cause Danny left? :(
@Inlex Danny left?!?!
@RicanV @Inlex danny left?
@aloufika @RicanV @Inlex He's gone to the heathen colonies to spread the word of Guinness.
finally a funny comment.
I like the arguments condemning steam for encouraging you to buy games you sometimes won't play. Being caught up in the materialism and such. But then the very opposite point is being able to touch and look at the things you bought. What is more materialistic than that?
@Busta Mebbe that was me, if so I wasn't condemning anything, it's just a fact. Example: I just bought the Commandos Collection because I have some vague memory of really enjoying Commandos 2 and the Commandos games are $0.99 right now.
I'll probably never play it. But hey, there it is if I ever decide I wanna. And with it costing less than a candy bar, why not? Like I said, it's not like I have to worry about waking up one day to find out my PC games won't work anymore with the next generation of PC hardware.
I don't see what's so "negative" about acknowledging the reality that I bought it and probably won't ever get around to playing it. But whatever, if you look at those "negative" comments you can see they were having to try pretty hard this episode.
@plaintomato @Busta How often do you play old games that you already beat years ago....well you said yourself, probably never. Also, there isn't a Steam game in my library that doesn't work, some need a little tweaking here and there but I've never encountered a non playable game sold through Steam, and compatibility rarely comes into effect because people rarely update their OS, and anybody with some sense does some research before hand to make sure their games, apps, drivers, etc, will be compatible beforehand.
Well, good for you Johnny. Keep touching your whatever while I go to see what's on sale at STEAM! :-P
@dr_jashugan I'm pretty sure johnny was all for steam. But he could also be about touching his whatevers.
