It amazes me that Peter Molyneux said all his mistakes he made on fable II that means they are looking to every aspect the yfailed on and fixing it so it means this might be the best fable of the 3 of them... well I hope

It's always refreshing to hear someone who's not shy to critique themselves in an open, honest, and if necessary, harsh way. Yeah he definitely is a little hard on himself, but it's just a reflection of someone who really wants to do his job right, not for his own ego necessarily, but for the people who buy his product. A rare character trait indeed. My hat off to him. On a side note, I found his opinion of the Kinect to be interesting. I'm wondering if he's got some ideas as to how to mesh more creative games than the standard casual fair with the technology.

bravo Mr. Molyneux admitting ur mistakes. I can't wait for Fable 3! I actually all in all liked the second one minus some of the backfalls such as bad menu design and a few other things.

I like this interview because Peter Molyneux admits that he makes mistakes in game developing, and that is why he creates better games.

IMO...the game won't stray from the RPG sense of the game. RPG's usually do have a lot of action, and one of the best things about them is the adventure. No action or adventure, usually doesn't make a good rpg. The game will most likely be a great RPG to how we're used to with Fable, it's just gonna be a lot better because of what's being implemented.

@Crayzorder, Peter is the creative director of the game. He doesn't have to promote his own game by bashing his own game. He knows we love the game regardless.

Fable 2 was perfectly fine. I hate how he bashes it to make 3 appear better. It better stay with it's core... I'd rather not have this great series destroyed.

Since the game is leaning more towards the action/adventure genre it might start to feel like Legend of Zelda. Legend of Zelda wasn't really a true rpg in the sense of leveling up attributes and because it played out more like an action/adventure game there some similarities I'm seeing between Zelda and Fable 3. Also both main characters don't speak and the stories and lands are big and epic.

If the people here would listen to the people here who took the words out of my mouth: (to name but a few: ironcreed and heyjay) then this would be a lot less of an argument and more of a discussion on how great fable 3 will be!!!! :D

"I hate the... billion choices of... things you can change about your character." So, let me get this straight. Peter Molyneux is saying that the things he doesn't like about RPGs are character customization and variety in character advancement. Fine, good, get out of my RPGs. Go have your action adventure and PLEASE, focus on making an action game instead of making a crappy dating sim AGAIN. Oh and by the way, the reason you can't bring action adventure and RPG together in the same game is because you're doing both of them poorly. In Fable (one and two), everybody was the same character at the end of the game. Yawn. Sure, they wore different clothes, but they all had the same abilities, they were all super buff, incredibly agile, and possessed remarkably shiny tattoos. The narrative was fine, I actually rather liked it. For what it was, I actually think the combat was alright. I could decapitate people and felt like a hero. My only gripe is that some more variety in the enemies encountered would be nice. And another thing, what interface issues are you talking about, Molyneux? Apart from picking your spells being a little finicky, there was nothing wrong with Fable 2's interface. I'm with Deadly_Nemesis on this one, Fable 2 just lacked content. For goodness' sake, there was no armour! Just adding that would at least have put it on par with Fable the first! TL;DR: Molyneux doesn't want to give you content. That's the problem.

so according to Molyneux, Fable III is caming for the 360 on Oct 26 AND a few weeks later on the PC. That's a relief, i don't have a 360 so i never played Fable II, when III was annouced for PC i rejoyced, but later when it was delayed I was worried it could take a lot longer for the PC version to come out, hopefully that's not the case, I can wait a few more weeks :D

You know the problem with fable 2 is this>Lack of Quality. Not the gimmicks. It was that it just lacked so much depth that the first Fable did have at point your were wondering if you were playing a Beta test. On another note let’s hope the dog is useful this time round instead of just barking and running us into walls and digging up used condoms and rings that would get a girl to spit in our face.

Peter Molyneux is harder on himself than his own naysayers. You can't learn without making mistakes, and that's the beauty of potential and being able to improve. He can deliver the hype to an extensive degree, sometimes to a fault - but he can be very humble as well. He just really loves what he does, and I wouldn't be one to hold that against him. What's most important is that he is a creative, fantastic designer and innovator, and I would jump at the opportunity to shake his hand.

love peter molyneux. but if he decides to make it mostly an action game he should have a deeper fighting mechanic then the one he is using from fable 2. one button, hold it down for strong attacks. there needs to be more depth

I like how Peter Molyneu always pushes his games forward, he's one of my favorite designers, but I think the statistics he follows are misleading. Fable II wasn't an awful game, it just needed more development time and it actually turned out to be pretty good anyway. It's not a design flaw when people don't use the features programmed into a game, it's a low user IQ and imagination. Not ever game should be as stripped down A to B just to appeal to the mongoloids. Hell, even Call of Duty does the thinking for you when it comes to team selection and weapon load outs making the player's job to... shoot. Does that make it right, or does that take away from game potential. Why can't players be asked to think?

I dont believe we can fully rely on trivial things such as video game reviews.. There have been many cases where great games have gotten terrible reviews. My opinion put forth, you have leaders and followers.. Some people who value the opinions of others rather than their own, will wait for the mainstream media to deem whether this is a good game or not... But others, who appreciate what Lionhead is doing with the video-game industry, will trust in PM and his vision..

Everyone always rags on Peter M. for overhyping, well here he is eating humble pie. What more do you want the guy to do? ALL devs overhype their games... as they want to sell them. This grudge people have held against Peter since the first Fable is getting just a bit old. Don't condemn the guy just because he has not created the greatest game ever made. Anyway, Fable III is looking like it is on the right track to be a really fun game, regardless if it is watered down RPG-wise. That does not mean the game itself will suck, as sometimes just having a fun game in an atmospheric world is enough. In the case of Fable III, becoming king at the mid-point of the game and ruling for the second half sounds like a total blast.

Fable already looks better than Fable 2, I just hope it turns out that way, 2 compared to Fable1 was pretty awful. Lets hope they program the game better so that it runs without constant glitches.

Peter Molyneux would be the most creative, emotional, visionistic game director ever. Everyone knows that his promises have run fulse but since he's admitted to his mistakes and acknowledged them so he can fix them. I think as an XBOX community we can forgive him. This is For Sure PETER MOLYNEUX TRULY CAERS ABOUT THE GAMES HE PRODUCES

Hmmm, part of me is excited, part of me is concerned. I just can't make up my mind on this one. Fable 2 was really good... is 3 going to be better or worse?! I have no idea. Reviews are going to have a big say on whether I get this or not.

Ugh. After hearing him say "Action RPG" my expectations on fable 3 just went way down. Most likely won't really be any real exploration at all or substance in this game. Still waiting for the next oblivion. I'm passing on fable 3.
