Honestly, the worst episode of the point.
It felt like a day in the life of an instagram follower.

It didn't feel like the point episode at all, and it's a shame especially since this is the best show on the website by far.
And with the best host as well.

I need a new website.

Man it was cool , it remind me good old times, good old Game spot and good Game Spot score system, unfortunately now changed ;( , good real next gen games , graphicly.. but now gamespot gives 10 to any game pays more ... and games dont do good in graphic they are not next gen like before , fu...k online, fu,,, 60 FPS obsession... and fu..k 4k and fu..k VR , UNCHARTED 4 is the only good next gen that feels good like before, i will go to ny for the division in winter ;)

Cool, Danny having never been to NY city but still sorta knowing where some things would be makes the game's representation even more impressive.

Okay, for real though... wtf? All the best people have left GameSpot. I've been a fan / viewer since the late 90's. I've never seen so many good people leave so quickly. I think Johnny Chiodini leaving was the start of the avalanche. Since then we've lost Cam, Rob, Andy, Kevin, and now Danny! (maybe even a couple more great people I'm forgetting). What's going on at GameSpot that so many of their most talented people don't want to be there anymore? Was there a fairly recent shift in management?

Either way, I've seen so many whining kids bitch and troll-on over the years about GameSpot going downhill for a long time, and I've just ignored the nonsense, but for the first time I'm honestly feeling it. I used to check GameSpot multiple times a day. I'm now down to once every week or two. Soon, I'll likely only use it for looking up info on specific games, then be on my way...

Sorry GameSpot. I'm sure some, or all, of these people are leaving on good terms - but you need to value your creative people and make an effort to keep them around.

@Drake213: I think most left because they were fearful they'd be the next to be laid off, like Carolyn Pettit, Tom McShea, Ryan MacDonald and the rest in 2014. It might not be them wanting to leave as much as them fearing for job security. It's too easy to be replaced at gaming sites these days, and a lot of their reviews are done now by freelance writers.

@Drake213: People don't wan't to do one thing forever man. We have goals and aspirations. Just because some of the older employees are leaving doesn't mean the site is going down the tubes.

@crazyivan21: That makes sense, and everyone's entitled to move-on when they're ready, but there's a reason they don't want to be there anymore. Either they've reached their ceiling within the company or something about the position is no longer fulfilling. The fact that they're leaving doesn't immediately equate to the site going "down the tubes" but it does have an effect on the quality of content. When enough talented people leave, the impact grows.

I'm not saying there are no longer talented people at GameSpot - of course there are - but some of the top content creators, for the things that I as a viewer want to see, have left the company. There are many talented people behind most forms of media but - Would South Park still be as good if Matt Stone and Trey Parker left the show? Were the Cavs still able to be a championship team without LeBron? Is Star Wars still as good without George Lucas? Okay, maybe on that last one... but my point is, there's a reason these people want to leave, and when they leave, there is definitely an impact on what they leave behind.

For a fouled-mouth Irish fellow, Danny, you are one classy SOB. I appreciated your commentary about the 9/11 memorial.

Thanks, we'll miss you.

I'm astonished that so much is still similar since GTA 4 came out in 2008 =) just goes to show how much of a feat that game really was in last gen.

Thanks for all your work Danny. I have found it honest, informative, entertaining (Random Encounters was greatly missed!) and always on point. No matter what you go on to do, no doubt you will be great.

Aww, good luck Dan. I am genuinely sad because being now in my early 30's, with a young family, I have have less time for video games but I always found Gamespot (and Danny) kept me connected and interested. Danny's content has been amazing - the Point really is incredible. Feels like life is moving too fast! But anyway, all the best mate.

This vid actually brought tears to my eyes. Not only because I felt very connected to the video, having done a 'reverse Danny', moving from New York to Europe, but because this feels like the end of an era. Danny, you were the last bastion of the gamespot trinity for me. You, Jonneh and Cam&Seb were gamespot for me. I fear now this is over.

Thanks for all the joy you brought. Especially with Random Encounter. Wish you all the best, and will never forget this moment for the rest of my life: "Cop doesn't even care, look at 'em. He's like 'yeah, I love Toto too!' "

I have lots of love for this site but when I was asking myself why I found that the answer was Danny O'Dwyer. Honestly his style and thought is the best I have ever found in game journalism. Without him on this site I fear there isn't much left pulling me in. That said, I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way. Gamespot would do well to analyze what about his work was so effective and continue down the path that he created. I'll be keeping track of whatever site Danny goes to and wherever that is I will call it home.

Thank you for everything Danny! The Point is The Wire of videogame journalism, the peak of the medium and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

You did so much with so little and wherever life takes you, know that you made a dent on us all. Cheers!

Dany good luck and everything, but why is it that everybody's leaving? I mean no offense, but I'm not gonna check out what Chris is doing, what you are doing what gamespot UK is doing and what Peter Brown's doing all separately, I just don't have the time. Why couldn't you guys stay and promote the quality of this site?

--about tourists
--i felt the same way about San Francisco
--i went in 2007
--i thought it was gonna be this magical city
--of hippies and majestic 'mellow yellow american' originality
--and even though it was(and it is an awesome city)
--i was PRETTY let down
--by how many tourist trap 'shops' there were
--let me put it this way
--when you go down to the waterfront(the street parallel with the bay)
--9 out of 10 shops are rehashed tourist traps
--and about 5-10 blocks up the hill(back towards the heart of city)
--3 out of 5 shops are rehashed tourists trap shops
--and
--i mean it seems like the same person owns ALL the shops
--and there are only 2 different ones
--and they are EVERYWHERE
--and they all sell the same exact stuff(ugly t-shirts~shot glasses~and repetative memorabilia)
--and it is PRETTY ridiculous

I actually did something like that, me and my friend went to Ikebukuro in Japan just to see the references and specific places used in Durarara! anime. Cool to see references be used so accurately in games, anime and stuff. Anyways thank you Danny for all those very enjoyable videos. good luck and best wishes, as Godlikan said 'Dang ,there goes everyone I ever watched...'
