Nice! Good to hear he's got back in to game development. What happened was pretty sad.
This is quite literally the best episode of The Bluffer's G...rrr, uhh..Escape From Mount Stupid ever!Good job m8.
Since I know you're reading this, Danny, have you ever considered doing an episode on my favorite video game developer of all time, Treasure?
Gunstar Hereos is arguably the best game ever made by many, if not definitely the best co-op side-scrolling game. Then there's the amazing amount of other great games they made over the years and I'm always surprised at the number of gamers who don't know any Treasure games!

@psuedospike Just checked out their wiki page and damn they've made a lot of games I've never heard of! Gunstar was pretty class, and there story is worth telling, but I try and not tell stories of developers I don't know. It would be weird for me to pretend to be an authority on something I know nothing about. Thanks though, I'm now stuck in a wikipedia learning hole. Also they've a great page on GB: http://www.giantbomb.com/treasure/3010-1843/
@dannyodwyer @psuedospike This is why we love you Danny. Down to earth and honest. Keep up the great work on EFMS and RE!
@psuedospike @dannyodwyer Dude call it whatever you like I was making dumb videos about how much I loved Sensi on GameSpot's user blogs since 2008. Just go out and do it, and then link me so I can enjoy it! Great work on the tats too - I'd love to have some game stuff on my skin. One day! :)
@dannyodwyer Yeah, I've been a fan since a wee lad, I'm gonna get that box logo tattoo'd one day (I currently only have a working Nintendo AR Card tat on my leg which I'm pretty proud of not that anyone asked). I mean Alien Soldier, Dynamite Headdy, Light Crusader, Mischief Makers, Sihoulette Mirage, Rakugaki Showtime, Radiant Silvergun, Bangai-O, Sin & Punishment, etc, these weren't JUST amazing games they also got me into importing and Japanese culture and design philosophy!
Maybe I'll have to research more of their company background and make a Youtube video or something. Don't worry, I'll call my video series "Flee from Idiot Hill", so as to avoid a messy lawsuit (also I'm too lazy to actually do this).
Great one, Danny. I hope you recovered from confusing and partly disturbing world of pidgeon dating simulators (I liked the voices). And how about EFMS Prince of Persia, or Jordan Mechner?
Wouldn't mind learning a bit more about that Pigeon Love Simulator; I mean what sick minds come up with that.
please make a cannon fodder remake !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm waiting for it all my life

Mr. O'Dwyer, could I make the suggestion of basing an episode of EFMS on Jurassic Park's relationship with the gaming industry? After watching JP 3D twice a few weekends ago it made me wonder if there were any good JP games and what I found in the ensuing research was pretty interesting.
Very interesting. I've played a lot of Amiga and those specific games were the highlight. Excellent show, Danny. You're awesome.
You really should do one 2d to 3d. What made the transition and what didn't. It'd be a longer episode than your FF one^^
that was great Danny i signed up after what must be over 10 years of coming to gamespot to say how much i enjoyed that, jon seemed like a great guy, swos was my fave game as a kid and cannon fodder was up there, wish there was more developers around like these guys today, could i request an efms on champ man? god im in flashback mode of playing all these great games with a group of us round my m8's. or just footy manager games for amiga in general, i think we must of played them all, does anyone remember on the ball world cup? also the full cannon fodder death song sounded pretty good, morrissey would be proud :)
@dannyodwyer I know you've done a EFMS on zombie games but how about doing one on horror games in general. Not even just survival-horror but any horror game ever made, starting in the past and working your way forward. You'd have a lot of material to work with and it would be very interesting.
How about the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. or Commandos series?
@rustynutts30 Like for Rtype
One classic arcade game that has never been mentioned is Chase HQ. Might want to put that for future show mate. Surely many gamers have fond memories of that game.
@hardeddie holy shit,i remember a holiday in france where me and my cousin spent 2 weeks in the arcade playing chase hq, many a frank was spent
I'm glad I was born in 1990, so I could have played most of these games on my Amiga 500/600 Game industry will never be the same...
I'd never heard of SWOS before this, and although I'm more of a hockey man, I might have to give it a go. I have to laugh at the acronym though, given that in a UK accent, it sounds an awful lot like 'swass,' which has an altogether different meaning here. Juvenile as it may be, it still makes me chuckle that there's people out there that have said, 'I loved playing with swass in the 90's...'

it was nice listening at good designer like jon hare.
Once again, being on the wrong side of the Atlantic has a severe drawback. Including not having good beer.
@Skrillbak You're definately right about the beer
anybody remember a amiga game called moonstone? and i think it was just called ninja which was bloody impossible
Brilliant but one of the most buggy games ever.
they complain about violence in video games, nowadays.
So true. It was just as buggy as it was awesome.
@ChrisButts @Gegglington ha class i remember you couldent complete it it just crashed
@Gegglington @ChrisButts haha, really? Amazing :D
great episode, i think what would be good EFMS is the legacy of Kain series, such an amazing series
Where did the name of this show come from?
@sunyatanada76 After a month of trying to rename the show because of a legal dispute we landed on Escape From Mount Stupid because of this: http://jacobageller.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/mount-stupid.jpg
Yea, wasn't the original name "Griefers' Guide to..." something.
@CruiserCaptain @dannyodwyer @sunyatanada76 Close - Bluffer's Guide. Though Griefer's Guide was on the shortlist of new names actually.
another great episode danny! as for random encounter i would suggest sniper elite v1
@icebox53 Great idea. 100 testicle shots before I get to go home.
@dannyodwyer @icebox53 i knew you would say something like that :DDDDD
jejejeje @dannyodwyer u are always hilarious. Great episode and now I know the developer of that great frantic game I was to play at my dad´s office: War. Thanks for the culture.
plz somebody make it happen "Sex 'n' Drugs 'n' Rock 'n' Roll"
@sunbeam4 I've some vague memory of hearing about this. Thanks for bringing it up. I love how far away it is from being politically correct. We need games like this!
Great episode Danny. Love the show and the humour in it.
As a suggestion I would recommend the Diablo series or the Warcraft series from Blizzard.
@partenie_marius Great suggestions, but just in case you missed it, I did WOW on it's own: http://www.gamespot.com/features/escape-from-mount-stupid-world-of-warcraft-6371712/
@dannyodwyer @partenie_marius Yeah, I watched the episode, but I was talking about the RTS series, not the MMO.
weeell, they didn't "steal" it, they plagiarised a bit..
@Red_lath @partenie_marius @dannyodwyer I already made a point of saying that in the Starcraft episode :D
@partenie_marius @dannyodwyer Definitely a Warcraft history episode of EFMS - Don't forget to explain how Blizzard stole the art and ideas giving birth to Warhammer series :D
