Ah, EFMS makes the internet worthwhile! As for suggestions for future episodes - how about a full on Bioware retrospective from Baldur's Gate to ME3? There's a lot of great stuff in there...
Thanks for the bringing back the memories ;)
Nice work Danny. I didn't know anything about any of that, but I still found it interesting. Game series suggestion: Prince of Persia.
I miss those "Protect your chicken from Dokken" Commercials...
There is a guy who I have nothing bad to say about.
I remember those graves.
@dannyodwyer Danny, thank you for putting this together, I'm glad that one of my favorite ever developers has been given the EFMS honours. Cannon Fodder and SWOS were two of the first games I ever seriously played and was the cause of much sibling rivalry for me too. I have returned to them from time to time over the last 15 or so years (still got the Acorn Achimedes I used to play them on somewhere) Cannon Fodder has my all time favourite game music and it was great to finally hear from Jon where it came from. A request for the future, in my memory CF and SWOS are hand in hand with Speedball II and Magic Pockets, so I'd love to see a Bitmap Brothers episode sometime. Thanks again, though you're starting to make me feel old with this 'memory lane' stuff :p
@OJ99 @dannyodwyer ooh yeah and Gods and Chaos engine, what a company.

@OJ99 Old, yea me too brother. Great shout on the Bitmap Brother's idea. There's a hell of lot of great games to talk about there.
You just confirmed you're a man of good taste.
A bunch of mates and myself have been getting together on a Wednesday night for 20 odd years now, we generally play games. The game that started this Wednesday tradition for us was Sensible Soccer, not just the best football game ever made but one of the best games ever made.
So many good memories of that game, cheers Danny :)
@GarGx1 That's amazing :D Myself and my bro play every few years, and we love it. But to think you guys started with Sensi and are still at it - that's awesome.
The first time I heard about Sensible was Cannon Fodder. I remember it on the Sega Genesis console. Rented it, liked it. It's one of the most popular games on GOG.
@dannyodwyer I love your Element hoody "random encounter sketch" :)
how's about the evolution of the video card.. the milestones and their gaming counterparts.... mmm counterparts
I remember this company and these games and I'm not European.
Danny, do Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@crazylooser2003 Arguably the greatest game ever made. The unofficial patch fixes it nicely.
@highlanderjimd @crazylooser2003 yeah...too bad Troika flopped =( I am trying to find a boxed copy of the game somewhere...
@highlanderjimd @crazylooser2003 i will not be playing it...since CCP banned my EvE account for no reason...
@crazylooser2003 @highlanderjimd i got the game on a steam sale at halloween in 2011, was the biggest surprise ever when it turned out to be such an amazing game. Noonone on ebay selling the boxed version? There is an MMO coming out set in the world of darkness, its by the Eve online ppl too so defo will not be an idiots game like wow etc.. Last trailer i saw looked pretty interesting.
haha I can't get past the explanation of Wizkid, I just keep listening to it over and over. What an extraordinary plot.
Danny, you should play LSD Dream Emulator on Random Encounter.
Oh my.... Cannon Fodder and Sensible Soccer is most playable games for me back in these days.
Nice to see that they're trying to make this show more frequent, it's really good
@macaque12 It occurs frequently when in season, but it has intermittent breaks.
all of this reminded me of psygnosis for some reason
@Mega_Loser Psygnosis (pre SCE Liverpool), was a great developer Loved Shadow of the Beast on Amiga and Megadrive. Great music and one of the best uses of parallax scrolling for its time. RIP SCE Liverpool.
I watched him stream the cannon fodder. Oh boy was that frustrating, haha. Danny made it fun though.
I actually remember playing Cannon Fodder back in the day, fun game.
One of my favourite developer for sure ! Sensible soccer is the best footbal game ever made and again there were Mega-lo-mania and Cannon fodder as beautiful games. Those were the dayz ... We were organizing tournaments in our appartments, 10-15 of us, playing sensible soccer until the end of time.
This was a great episode of Mount stupid.
Good show Danny and very informative. I've actually played some of these games, yet i never really knew about the guys behind it. Always nice to be informed.
Also, for ideas on episodes for EFMS; i don't know if you've already covered this so disregard if you have: How about an episode talking about how games, and game studio.s, are sometimes started from free community mods for other games.
For example, Torn Banner studios released Chivalry: medieval warfare a few months ago, and that started out as a Half-life mod, it gained popularity, and the guys behind it made a full on release with the game. Other examples like DOTA 2 as well, and i'm pretty sure you know a lot more than i do.
Could be enlightening.
Sensible Soccer was the only football game I've ever enjoyed, cause I generally hate sports games, but this was something else.
It seems most old British developers have pony tails.
@couly they still think they are Yuppies from the 80s :D
S-e-n-s-i-b... Nope never heard of them hehe. But Jon Hare seems like a super cool guy nice to see a bit of gaming history from across the pond.
What no feedbackula this week either? dissapointing
Do you play console games on Random Encounter? If so you should play Guardian Heroes on the Saturn.
I'd love to see an episode on Last Ninja 2
Very emotional stuff for and old Amiga gamer like myself.
Mega-Lo-Mania is one of my favourite games but I think I've played every single game in that video. Including the football board game xD
I was wondering why you kept showing Speedball II from Bitmap Brothers. Glad I got an explanation at the end. had no idea they're working together.
I have to say though sensi soccer was NOT my favourite football game on Amiga. I was more of a KickOff fan :P
It was sort of like a Stones vs. Beatles at the time if I remember.
This is probably the best show on Gamespot.
@Saketume KickOff and Striker! :)
@couly @Saketume You're likely to make an effigy of me and burn it in the town centre to a pitchfork wielding crowd but, I hated Kick Off. I kept thinking I was just wrong cos all the magazines were giving the games 90% and 9/10's.
Hehe yeah that's how I remember it. Everyone was so passionate about those two games.
It's a bit like the Mario vs Sonic debate of the 90's
@couly @Saketume hehe i remember striker, u could score from the half way line n stuff :)
Ahh, all the great memories.. The Amiga was fantastic!
Man, that brings back memories, I remember being addicted to Sensible Soccer, and sometimes I loaded Wizball just to listen to the music.
Very good video!
You could do an episode on MOBAS with dota, HoN, LoL and soforth and maybe tie in esports
@Korkrest Yea that's been in planning for a while. Waiting to get the right people to talk to on camera. It's happening though!
@dannyodwyer @Korkrest Sweet! lookin forward to it
