I agree with drumjod below - the learning "curve" on ED is more of a vertical line than a curve, but imo this is well worth sticking with. You will have heard about the size of the universe (the real one) and the universe in this game is, remarkably, the same size (although it takes rather less time to get to and from each system).

I have this on the One, from the Game Preview thing, and it cost about £18 a couple of years ago. A few months ago I got the "Horizons" dlc for another £14 (I think) - which is the bit that allows planetary landings - and this is the best 30-odd quid I've ever spent. But you do need to stick with it for at least 6 or 10 hours to really figure out what it's about and what you can do.

This is a truly stunning game, and looks absolutely amazing also, even on console. Sometimes I just slow my ship to a halt in the middle of a asteroid belt, or a planetary ring (like the ones around the planet you see in this video), and look around for a few minutes in awe; it's breathtaking.

Enjoy PS people; please give this a try...Frontier Developments deserve every sale they make.

@mpl911: I absolutely love this game, bought it for the PS4 and been learning how to fly and achieve some success for the last 3 weeks. Thank you for the advise.

Just give me a release date please...been looking forward to playing this along with a lot of my friends who are just as excited about playing an actual space sim. Not another point and shoot space game. We want something more detailed, and this game is it. Been following this game since release on xbox one.

I had a lot of fun playing this with a friend on my Oculus Rift. If you're thinking about playing this for the first time I'd highly recommend either reading a guide or talking to someone who knows good places to find NPC enemies to shoot for credits early on. The game doesn't make it obvious how to make progress and most of the available missions can't be attempted until you've made a lot of progress. It's also best enjoyed with a friend via voice chat.
