@uhvt123 LoL is there really a need to ask that question. WiiU will definitely sell more units than Vita since Vita is a portable device while WiiU is a brand new console. If Wii sold more than 80m units worldwide, you can just imagine how much a more powerful and innovative console with incredible visuals, a lot of third-party support including Nintendo's original titles would sell.
Also, its neat if you dont have other machines, but who is gonna get Darksiders or Batman or Assassins Creed on the Wii if you have achievements and trophies and friends lists on Xbox and 360 already? Its neat that its more powerful, but I want new original games (that Zelda mock up looked cool!) , not whats already on my PS3 and Xbox.... Warren Specter sounded like he'd have a new original game in the works that could "only be done on the Wii U", but that's the same EXACT soundbyte he gave before Epic Micky was developed, and that SUCKED! So I am waiting for some neat announcements of original IP to pop up soon, then I will be excited :)
I am a Nintendo fan - I have NES, SNES, Gamecube, and Wii in my house right now. But holy cow, get some new stuff Nintendo! You are still going to be making Mario Kart and Star Fox games when i am 80! 3DS is all OLD games! I had all of your new announcements this E3 back on my SNES! 3DS is all remakes of old console games (Zelda, NES game, Metal Gear) and sequels (mario kart, smash bros). I have so many different copies of Mario Kart i will pass on any more. I don't care if you add hand glider jumps. I bet you will re-release Mario Allstars again!? I don't need a 3D NES Exicite Bike. C'mon make some new games please! Hopefully Wii U will have some new intellectual properties and games and can deliver on its "ideas" from this conference. yeah if its not too much ill buy that. But the 3DS lost me as a gimmick machine. I hope Wii U is not too gimmick.....
yeahhh boii you go pet that dog during your video call haha i like how the announcement of smash bros had the largest audience response and not the wii u
Just as a side note, do you think we'll ever get to the point where the stage awkwardness will be minimized enough that it's no longer painful to watch? After watching about 10 years of expos, I don't think I'll ever see anything more uncomfortable. There needs to be a parody of it, maybe there already is. At least Miyamoto has the language barrier. Reggie looks like he wants to run to the toilet, and he talks like they wrote the speech yesterday. It's not just Nintendo, every company is guilty of it, and I know it's hard to get up there and speak like a human being but I just find it hilarious. Is anyone there with me? Am I the only one distracted by the extreme awkwardness?
Granted it was a little confusing at first, but if you took two seconds to do the research, you would have seen that it was a new console. One stop by Nintendo's website and all the info was right there. Also, I guarantee half the people hating right now will be first in line to buy it. These are all the same comments people made about the Wii and look what that did. Newsflash folks, basement dwellers aren't the only ones who play video games, Nintendo knows this and went out and reeled those new players in. Now, with HD support, hardcore and casual alike will rush to this system.
You guys should make the conferences downloadable! I mean.. I upgraded my account to be able to download HD content and speedy downloads and I especially did it for E3. I don't want to get into a rant so I'll just politely ask. Please don't disappoint us Gamespot! :)
processor is almost same as xbox slims just little more muscle. Doesnt get released until next year who wants to play BF3 and other games till then. Not impressed and only comes with one controller.....this system will fosho cost alot of money for systems that you can get now and play new games this year
@kaeban They will probably rip Nintendo off again. Sony already riped off the Wii-mote and they created Move they'll also rip off the Wii U by making a new controller that connects to their PS3 and call it PSU.
Nintendo is looking strong, great developers, real games are finally available for this company - plus the exclusives, of course. Lets see how Sony and Microsoft answer to this in the future...
Alright, here's my question. Why doesn't Nintendo just interop its new console with the 3DS and use that as a controller? Would probably boost sales of the 3DS for those who want the experience instead of burdening gamers with a (probably) overpriced "console controller" for those who don't. I certainly don't care how portable a home console is - I'm more concerned about what it can do on its own merit. If I wanted portability, I'd buy the Vita or 3DS. A console that has a handheld console that comes with it just seems kind of redundant, especially as that kind of capability is going to raise some legitimate price eyebrows.
@kaptainownage if u havnt seen the specs of the new controller ull see that on top is a headphone jack. and its neither heavy nor unwieldy. theyve designed the controller with a lot of thought and care and i think this is the future of gaming which is going to outmode dumb stuff like kinect.
Reggie needs to stop doing these shows. He may be a great Nintendo OA president, but hes way too serious. Good showing though. Three things worry me though and I hope Nintendo doesn't epicly fail on delivering on these three "objections" to buying the WiiU (besides the name). 1) Battery life of the controller. 2) The sound quality of the controller. What I mean by that though is once its projected back to the controller on a high end game, since there isn't a headphone jack, I hope they didn't skimp on sound quality like they did with the wiimotes. 3) Controller ergonomics. Nothings worse than holding a controller that feels like crap after holding it for a while.
Maybe it's just me but it was pretty annoying having the translator constantly talking over Shigeru, Couldn't he have waited until Mr. Miyamoto was finished his sentence? it just sounded a little scrambled having both guys talking at the same time.. it also seemed a little rude lol.
Oh Zelda, no matter how old your games are I will never get tired of playing them all again. Thank you Nintendo for making my gaming experiences and memories what they are today.
