The game awful, save your money. Bad controls and totally boring..play at your own risk.
glad i tried demo first ... this game is not worth playing on PC for several resons i can't be bothered to list here. On console ? I do not know.
this game is broke on PC its a pure console game
@NeoEnigma That makes me sad. I loved the first 2 because they were soo much fun. I thought this game might improve upon the first 2 but i guess not. Thanks for saying that though at least i didnt buy it then be dissappointed in it.
@vernholio - nope. hold right click to move. left click doesnt even grab items for you. you have to walk up to them and press e. Left click is ONLY for attacking. You use A and D to rotate the camera. There are only 2 zoom levels. 1 which is normal, and another close up. No custom zooming. This is definitely not a dungeon siege game.... nor does its feature set match any other ARPG made in the last 5-6 years... including budget titles like Torchlight (which actually allow unique character builds as well). AVOID THIS GAME.... at least until it's on sale.
@RomanKingNYC... Mouse and keyboard or just point and click (a la Diablo and all it's clones)? If the controls are that bad on the PC, that might be a deal-breaker for me on this one...
I played the PC demo and I hated the Keyboard and Mouse controls. The game was designed for consoles. I played it with my XBox controller and it played better. I'm not too crazy about the pre-made builds and enemies all look like clones and move the same. Loved the first one and never got into the second one. I will wait on more reviews before I decide on this one.
Preordered, I like the demo, can't wait for release.
gj making a bad game
Demo on PS3 and its pretty sick!!! I just hope you can bring your main guy into co-op.
This will hold me off til Diablo
I tried the demo on the 360 and it really didn't do anything for me. I haven't played DS 1 or 2, mainly because I didn't have a decent PC at the time, but am a fan of aRPGS. I really dislike predetermined characters in this genre. I like to having the option to freely create what I want, no matter how bad. The combat reminds me of Sacred 2 where it just feels somewhat clunky. This game does have me interested so I will at least give it a rent.
I am so skeptic about this game...
i hope they done it well cuz i dont trust obsidian
Is this game like Gauntlet?
the demo is out btw on xbl but only for gold members.
No Demo yet?
this game looks epic i hope im not wrong....
Gamespot, fix your typo up top. It comes out on the 21st, not the 11th. You shattered my hopes and dreams of the game coming out in time for my birthday. Now I'm gonna have to wait an extra 6 days. Damn you.... ;)
I sure hope Jason Statham is providing some voice work, lol.
Well...I thoroughly enjoyed the original games...I love Diabloesque games and this is one of them.... I wonder how I will feel when I play this...(I wanna feel the excitement that I felt when I was a kid playing these dungeon romps)
too many lights and flashes, it's like a bloody epileptic seizure. you literally can't see what is happening on screen from all those effects and NPCs. the first two were decent games, in my opinion, I'm really not sure for this one...
this game is gone, RIP dungeon siege world !
I don't like the direction that they have taken the game. It seems that they have added more story which is nice, but at the same time dubbed the game down alot. Preset characters and no character customization is not my thing.
As a fan of the original, I've been watching this one for awhile, but your comments really gave me pause. I really liked all the customization of the original and, while story is important, feeling like my hardwork is unique and distinct to me is as well. I'm more on the fence, now, and will have to wait for the reviews.
Still not sure about this one... I'm not really in to the 'birds eye view' thing
@ downloadthefile -- There are choices and consequences :) Looking forward to this one big time :3 Love Obsidian's work.
Oh Yea cant wait to Pick this baby up
i can't wait to play DS III i enjoy the first to and i think i will enjoy playing this one to :P
Does this game have any kinda decision making like in Dragon Age, etc.? Or is it just a repetitive grind?
Slashed my way through the first two games so will be getting this one as well. Did anyone notice the narrator in this trailer sounds alot like your master from Jade Empire? Probably is him too :)
@slainta thanks mate, it works :)
My favorite type of games. Diablo 3 can't come soon enough, but this should hold me over.
This is just my opinion so Don't take it personal, but I really think Dungeon Siege 1 was The best out of the series. I remember playing it online with alot of people and had some good times in that game. I don't like the direction that they have taken the game. It seems that they have added more story which is nice, but at the same time dubbed the game down alot. Preset characters and no character customization is not my thing. No thanks. But who knows Maybe some people like no character customization and all story.
Daaamn, I gotta have this game!
This one's gon' kick bum bums...Obviously online coop, right?
I don't know what to make of this game yet. Of course, I love a great story (which we can only assume, it's yet to be revealed), but not necessarily at the cost of my customization. I'd much rather create my own character/skillset, and it baffles me that developers seem to miss the mark repeatedly in that regard. I think there are more than enough casual friendly games nowadays, but there are those of us that still prefer a little depth, and it's indisputable as far as I'm concerned that player involvement is elevated when you feel the character is really "yours". Besides, I've yet to see a compelling argument that you can't have customization and still have a game that plays casually. It's the gaming equivalent of dumbing down box office movies. It presupposes that your average person is only slightly more intelligent than a monkey. I'm not Stephen Hawking by a long shot, and I was creating skill trees for my characters as a kid. I must assume most gamers are capable of the same.
Why am i feeling the same way as i did about Gothic 4(before it came out) with this game as well? I loved the original DS and really liked DS 2. just don't want to see this game fail...
This looks awful.
Buggy or not, I just want to know if this game will be good, like the original Dungeon Siege with massive party battles up to 8 players against larger armies that want nothing more than to see your party get torn to shreds
@RobertBowen I'm a little dubious myself. I am getting a "push a bu'on, something awesome happens" feeling from this. Still must admit that it looks pretty.
hmm, i wonder how orphane kids became the best warriors in the realm... doesnt sound correct, but what do i know
Predetermined characters, firearms, the makers of NWN2 and FFXIV...... No thanks........
Look like they're following the way of FF, DA, ME and other new-age RPGs that strive to be character- and story-driven. This, of course, means less character customization for us. I'm not quite sure how I feel about that yet. Loved FF and ME, hated DA. I also loved DS 1 and 2, so I hope 3 lives up to it's lineage. It will be interesting playing it on Xbox, as my computer won't run it. I think, for me, it will be successful if the world is as big as DS 1 and 2 were, there are a lot of side quests, frequent improvements to gear and skills, and a strong story.
Looks great but gonna read the reviews on whether this is buggy or not before I buy this.
@RobertBowen Nice to see someone making a decent comment on here and not just talking out of their arse. Good on you mate.
i hope Obsidian don't give us another buggy game..
I watched the long gameplay video over on Giantbomb (lasts about 1 hour), and judging by the interface, the lack of character customisation (you have to use the preset characters, like other action RPGs), the neon bling with every attack, and practically the same mob of enemies over and over in the level they showed - it's just not coming across as 'Dungeon Siege' to me. The thing I liked about the previous Dungeon Siege games was picking the sex/look of my character, the party mechanics, the uncluttered interface, and the huge variety of diverse monster designs. On the plus side, I did like the dodge mechanics, and the level design of this new game, and the gameplay looked pretty good (although the animation of the main characters isn't as good as it chould be). Nevertheless, it just feels like this game shouldn't have Dungeon Siege in the title... :/
