I was super excited to see some actual gameplay of this version... Too bad it was ruined by really stupid comments.
"Put on clothes, you'll catch your death of cold kasumi" ...Seriously?
@VenkmanPHD: Because those jokers are so obssessed with the skin. Jeez!
It called Jiggle Dynamics in game development terms.
@GregoryBastards: do they use physX on the jiggle dynamics?
Despite what I have said to CapnXtraObvious earlier, I should admit here that I still raise an eyebrow at the failure of sports bras (e.g. Mila's) in Dead or Alive 5. Sports bras are supposed to stop the wobbling.
Is this a game based on a hentai series?
I don't think that you even intend that question to be answered. :\
Also, come on - you should be quite used to gratuitous use of jiggle physics by now. :P
@Gelugon_baat@CapnXtraObvious: Why not? I could swear I've seen ads on the internet that appeared to have characters that closely resemble characters from this game. And they looked more than just simple...anime... And since this is a Japanese game, I thought my guess might be right.
I don't think that you have been around long enough to know which one came first, the game or the pornographic parodies. :\
@Gelugon_baat@CapnXtraObvious: Well, to be honest...does it really matter? They both seem like the same thing lol
Oh, ho, ho. I don't think so. If this one hurts your eyes, the other one makes them bleed.
You really haven't been looking around the Internet a lot, really. ;)
@Gelugon_baat@CapnXtraObvious: Ah, you sound like you have extensive knowledge regarding both. My apologies.
@CapnXtraObvious@Gelugon_baat: what gave it away maybe that avatar pic......
Please, no apologies. ;)
Hmm.. Not sure if I should get this for Steam or PS4 instead.. Decisions, decisions.
I love this so much. I think it takes real skill to have all these fighting styles without weapons and special powers. DOA has always been a Great fighting game. I hope they can do more with the series, like make the environment more active. I always loved the different things you could do in the maps but wished there was always more. Like trash cans you can throw, push people thru grocery store windows, powerbomb thru Mercedes in a walmart parking lot, and etc. This is a game for all, beginners can have fun, and even more experienced plays can enjoy. Yalls chemistry is awesome, loved watching the play-tru, very informative. Its not easy to find good play-trus without all the silly fake acting and cursing every minute.
@iandizion713: I totally disagree about the people playing not being annoying... None-the-less I agree that DOA has always had a very solid fight system. Especially once the counters were put in place. Only thing that comes close is Virtua Fighter, but they don't have the levels to match.
I can't wait to play this on steam.
Dead or Alive: Another Excuse for More Pr0n Manga
I'm sorry, can't think of any other strength this series has. Ah well. Its at least good at that!
@5hd6j: This game has a lot of strengths, namely the deep fight system. I can't tell you how annoying I find the over-sexed characters though. FUN FACT, they were going to drop the over-the-top boob nonsense in DOA5... But Alpha players whined that it was the "heart of DOA" so they put it BACK in... I hate people...
@5hd6j: Dead or Alive is very tame by today's standards. It might be risque by 1998 standards but today we can play as Kratos as he engages in a threesome with some lesbians(?). And GoW is a massively popular action game. Dead or Alive is just an arcadey fighting game, and sometimes you happen to fight as a sexy cat lady or something.
I know many women that play DoA but none that play Tekken. Maybe it has something to do with the DoA character's doll-like aesthetic while Tekken is more realistic.
As "realistic" as Tekken can be when it has fighting grizzly and panda bears.
@Gelugon_baat@BradBurns: yeah, but those bears are stylized in a very realistic manner. If a grizzly would beat you up and then brag about it witha win pose, i imagine it'd go down just like in tekken.
A real bear would likely try to eat you instead of posing. ;)
Good grief. Why have two people do this when neither of them even knows the Story mode is the same as the one from the original DOA5? Why use the 'Scramble' stage at the end and go on about lack of visuals when you've picked the second half of the stage and missed some of the most dramatic stage interactions in the whole game and then the Cliffhanger?
Seriously, if you're at all interested in Last Round, watch it Youtube. This video is a waste of time and I doubt either of these guys has spent more than a hour with the game, total.
@majere613: I agree, I found Peter and Randolph's lack of skill and knowledge pretty embarrassing, It's like GS just picked two random guy's wandering around the office and handed them the assignment.
If anyone Is legitimately Interested In this game, please take << LINK REMOVED >>'s advice and look for video's on Youtube.
The one on the left looks like an idiot, the one on the right looks like he just got out of bed.
Cant wait to pick this up for the XOne plus for $39 not a bad price.Killer Instinct and Dead or Alive on the same platform cant go wrong with that for fighting fans
@smackdowner360: All we need now is Virtua Fighter 6 and Capcom Vs. SNK 3 (I can dream...)
@VenkmanPHD@smackdowner360: Virtua Fighter 6 would be awesome to see at E3 this year
@smackdowner360@VenkmanPHD: Especially if they learned a few lessons (Namely how to make a level) from their little crossover with DOA.
