sep 6 release? im trying not to get my hopes up, but i want the BX to carry this title SOOOOOO bad. been following it avidly ever since the cinematic trailer came out. its as if Borderlands + Oblivion had an undead baby :)

Will there be night action too right???Cuz if u fight all the time in the sunlight it'aint gonna be much of fun after 5 to 6 hours of gameplay : /

@shihuandgi There's a lot of gore.

I can wait to get my hands on this game and play some co-op with a friend and go exploring seeing what secrets, easter eggs and just funny encounters we can find

where is the guts and the gore? i mean, first screenshots i saw from this game (way back in 2006 i thought) was really gory and you could see the extreme dismemberment like knife through the flesh against the bones itself, and stuff like that, nevertheless i love good zombie games (especially co op l4d) so this would be a insta buy, but i just want more gore (like guinea pig series in games)

on the other hand, theres alot of people thinkin this is just a L4d knock off and maybe it will be but i am still willing to give it a shot. i do have to give this game its props for at least trin to be different.

LOL, thats funny phobb0s. dead rising 2 was fun but it was just too crazy and wild for me. i mean... i cant picture any grown man runnin around in a damn dress killin zombies with a light savor made from a flash light and jeawlry. dead island looks like its gonna be alot different then anything i've seen and when you add the sandbox and rpg elements we may just have pretty interesting game on our hands.

Techland only got one good game and that's bound in blood. And Deep Silver is a B-publisher, not that it matters, because square enix had some crappy titles the last few years and suddenly Deus Ex rocks my world, but Eidos is ofcourse more experienced. I don't know about dead island, first i thought, repetitive, now i just like the lvl up system and the way everything works as a rpg and a sandbox title.

This seems as open world as the Fable series. It just seems like paths restricted by trees or buildings. Has anyone seen otherwise so far?

Left4dead and dead island are 2 different games, ones hardcore in yourface not for the weak you play bad. this is for those who like slow pace but loves exploration and coop friendly. DON'T INSULT LEFT4DEAD and i will not call you idiot. Don't insult DEAD ISLAND and i will not call you boring.

I agree with everyone. Left For Dead was horrible. Both of them. So this will be the first actual good alternative.

the is a wanna be L4D meets a wanna be RPG borderlands. And sense when can you throw a crow bar at a propane tank and make it explode. No thx, L4D is were i get my zombie fix. This is just a rip off zombie game. Seems their creators have no creativity. Besides, the only zombie game im looking forward next is that MMO for the 360. Get Some.

@ripse3 Guessing this'll be more of an "Adrenaline scare" where they wear you down. Plus, a game is alot different in playing as in watching, might turn out to be rather scary.

L4D was horrible. I agree. Open world with zombies? Who cares even if you're doing the same crap, as long it isn't L4D and it's brainless 1 way corridoor.

it looks like an AMAZING l4d, and l4d was horrible. So techinically a whole different game, that takes zombies to a new and unique level, not just some repetitive horrible zombie game we usually see

All games but the PC exclusives have bad graphics today. This game looks interesting anyway. This game will probably be a buy for me if they don't ruin it with coc or bloatware drm.

Wow! I hate to judemental, but this game looks terrible. I hope we are not looking at the finished product. This game looks as if it was made 10 years ago. There are too many games coming out this fall that look as if they will be leaps and bounds better than this. I'll wait to see reviews.

@defan88 It well have bad things but not as bad as Duke Nukem. It would be fun to play with friends know. :D It going to be a long ride know! :D

@BoneyHead95 Not sure, but a bad b-movie is a bad b-movie. Best case scenario, this game will be forgettable. Worst case: Another Duke Nukem style bomb. Either way, it doesn't look promising. I hope I'm wrong though.

Why are you piss off with this game. If you don't like it then go away back to your Cod games. I want this game because I've played more then 3000 hours on both Left 4 Dead and there too many noobs. This looks so stupid. Yeah that's what I want to do, swing a club and throw knives most of the game. Is everybody on this island tattooed bad-asses? By the look of the characters, I can assume the dialogue is going to be awful. It looks like a bad zombie b-movie turned into a game. So disappointed.

the enviornments are kinda remind me of farcry 2 and i love the fighting cause the way u fight is very realistic for killing zombies plus pre ordered

Environments are really beautfiul.

Something new to the Zombie First Person View genre, Left for Dead series had excessive use of firearms explosives and what not, but I really like the idea of close combat contact and bonking a zombie on the head with a boat paddle, gives the audience of zombie mayhem a new view.

@Kingjames11 THANK YOU Finally someone who can see past the hype & see the game for what it really is. There's a lot of things in the gameplay videos that make me pull a "Hrmm..." and absolutely everybody else is just all giggly and gitty.

The more I see, the more I'm intrigued. Kind of kills the old zombie apocalypse notion of finding a quiet island somewhere and being safe.

this game will be a love/hate type of game a small percentage will absolutely adore it (because it is a legitimate zombie survival game) and teh rest will hate it (you know the lovers of dead rising and l4d which are both good games but the whole survival aspect gets dumbed down in favor of the action)

I played so much L4D that Im kinda sick of zombies, BUT this game....

Typical. You try and get away from it all and the island resort gets hit with a zombie outbreak. Oh well - *reaches for shotgun*

Looks pretty good. Might consider picking it up when it comes out.
