Not sure how people have all this time (some to waste) to play new games EVERY week. Or the money, unless you're a pirate, AVAST. Hell I'm still working on Dying Light, Alien Isolation, and downloaded the revamp of Oddworld Abes Odyssey. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I think the only games I'm waiting for this year are Until Dawn and The Division.

@bubba_666: uhhhh, sounds like you think you're better than these people. Not sure where it says people have that kinda time, or were you just throwing that little tidbit in there to make yourself sound like less of a loser?

@bubba_666: Normal, reasonable people you say, don't have all this time to play new games EVERY week. Or the money. So good to see a kindred spirit once in a while...

DS II Scholar of the First Sin has changed the brightness settings. It's much brighter now, but in a bad way. The sunlight in Majula is hurting my eyes. I just prefer the way the game looked before the upgrade.

I started playing "Scholars of the First Sin" on PC 2 hours ago... it is kind of degrading the Souls series further? If you weren't a fan of *B-Team* Dark Souls 2, this 'upgrade' will disappoint you even more? Placing some enemies in the same level, next to almost invisible visual "upgrades" ... changes nothing. It still is a non-Miyasaki-san B-Movie of a Souls game.

Demon's Souls - Dark Souls 1 - Bloodborne ... are a pinnacle of game design and obsessive attention to detail. This DkS2 thing is not...

@sethfrost: Dark Souls II is great but it lacks the epicness present in the other Souls' titles. I was playing Demon's the other day and I thought "I have this game for 4 years and still didn't get the platinum".

I'm 2 trophies to it but it keeps getting harder to achieve as I keep making mistakes that hinder my progress.

DS II trophies are piece of cake, you just have to play like 3 journeys and you're done, a little disappointing. Trophies in Dark Souls are time consuming as well but they require more from you than just replaying the game.

Anyway, love them all and is not about the trophies for me all the time.

Yay! Yet another rehash of a last gen game. You can't make a last gen game current gen without redoing the entire game. The best rehash has been GTAV in terms of graphical and performance updates. However it is still a last gen game. Dark souls 2 still looks like someone ate a buffet and puked all over the screen. Well it doesn't look THAT bad but you get my drift.

Did GS even do a new releases video that included Pillars of Eternity? Talk about ignoring a critical and market success. What is it with the spite? I mean, here they even call a re-release of an old Souls game after some tweaks a "new release," but no...no Pillars of Eternity love. I'm beginning to think GS is deliberately ignoring it at this point. One review may come, but to not even have any discussion articles about different aspects of the game...while other games that clearly suck or have nothing much to offer in terms of depth (like Bloodborne character class selection) get loads of articles. After 11 years as a loyal GS reader, I have to say the quality lately is in the toilet.

@esqueejy: We had it on New Releases when it came out, the week of March 26th: << LINK REMOVED >>

We typically don't put it on the show twice in a row. I also made an impressions piece on making characters and the consequences. I'm editing the review today, everyone calm yourselves.

@esqueejy: They want money. And it looks like obsidian aint giving it. Just look at the facts, no mention of the game after more than 2 weeks of release? And Kevin is "working on it" because the game is "long"? Lol... Fact is, with all other sites and my own score of 9.5 for PoE, nobody needs Gamespot review on it anymore.

@julianboxe@esqueejy: Indeed. However, as I said, I've been loyal to GS for like 11 years. he least I can do is provide them with the criticism they need to see that they're straying into really crappy territory as a site and organization, particularly with the switch to mostly video content instead of actual writing.

I guess I shall take a look at Bastion unless Sony/Supergiant decide to overprice it. I really enjoyed Transistor and have heard nothing but good things of Bastion.

Might take a look at Affordable Space Adventure, Wii U's been sitting idle a while. Just completed Ori and The Blind Forest on PC, so I need something new.

Bastion should be a good time for those haven't played the PC version...and aren't AAA ONLY snobs.

Did they just say Dark Souls 2 First Sin looks "super hot" graphically? They know this type of language will incite me to rail against the ugly, flat graphics! Sure 60 FPS on next-gen is great, but the graphics themselves are so inferior to truly "super hot" visuals as seen in Bloodborne, the Order 1886 and such. I will now remind everyone of the original "super hot" graphics of DS2 that were REMOVED and do NOT appear in this First Sin edition. LOOK AT THIS BETRAYAL:

@Brumbek: Bloodborne doesn't look amazing. Put DkS2 and Bloodborne side by side and nobody is going to be saying "omg this one looks so much better graphically!". None of the Souls games are amazing looking. So I don't know why you're making it seem like Bloodborne has amazing graphics when it clearly doesn't.

Lastly, 60fps+fast loading times>>>>30fps+long loading times. So on a technical standpoint, DkS2 is superior.

@huerito323@Brumbek: Have you played Bloodborne personally? It does, in fact, look graphically amazing. Pretty much every single review mentions the phenomenal art design and attention to detail. You are correct that none of the Souls games ever looked amazing...Bloodborne isn't Souls, it is a new era. It is everything Dark Souls 2 promised graphically and more. Go explore Yharnam with a torch; it is a graphical marvel.

Faster loading times are obviously better...so yes, an aging, graphically sparse game like DkS2 will load faster. It is what happens after the loading times that Bloodborne does better.

@Brumbek: lol, it does NOT in fact, look amazing. It DOES have phenomenal art design and attention to detail, but that has nothing to do with graphics. I think you're just being a fanboy. The new Dark Souls 2 remaster looks better, but I play it on PC. Regardless, From Software games aren't amazing looking games, PERIOD.

@huerito323@Brumbek: Alright, if you say it I must accept it? It has much higher (5-10x) polygon counts than DS2, much more complex shader effects (puddles, blood), soft cloth effects, bokeh depth of field, full 1080p, and also insanely good art design as you say...but you clearly don't think that matters. You have a strange definition of graphics.

You never said if you played it personally...I get the feeling you haven't personally walked down the streets of Yharnam, torch in hand, all blood splattered. I hope you can play it soon for yourself. DS2 is a fine game, but it ain't Bloodborne.

@Brumbek:

It's widely known that these games aren't spectacular looking. Why are you getting butthurt? lol

I don't own Bloodborne, but I have played it. The graphics are decent, if you think they look amazing, then you obviously haven't played many great looking games.
