Box Boy + Box Girl Is Cute And Cooperative - PAX East 2019 Gameplay

Box Boy + Box Girl has over 200 stages to overcome with a friend, and we got a chance to conquer a few of them on Nintendo Switch at PAX East 2019.

After three adventures on the 3DS, Nintendo's adorable square hero Qbby is making his Switch debut this month in BoxBoy + BoxGirl, the newest installment in Kirby developer HAL's clever puzzle-platforming series. Like its predecessors, the game takes players through more than 200 bite-sized stages, where they'll need to utilize Qbby's ability to create boxes to scale ledges, cross spiky pits, and overcome other environmental puzzles.

Just as before, you can play through the adventure solo, but this time around, you'll also have the option to team up with a friend--controlling the titular BoxGirl Qucy--and play through a unique set of cooperative stages designed around teamwork. In the video above, you can watch us work our way through a handful of these co-op levels at PAX East 2019. You won't have to wait long for your own chance to try them, though; BoxBoy + BoxGirl launches exclusively in the Switch Eshop on April 26.
