And BTW you can do nothing with Natal, it ain't practical at all, the whole "your body is the controller" thing. SONY showing off tech demos in which you could perform various, more precise, movements showed much more potential. I don't know who created this "Breakdown of major announcements", but he clearly doesn't understand the meaning of major, as according to him, FFXIV is not 'major' at all. Natal IS major AND innovative, but why do you think regular controllers include MULTIPLE buttons? Because MORE buttons mean more control over the game. That's why I think Natal will be very limited. As for Final Fantasy 14... The whole audience holding their breaths for a couple of moments before breaking out in cheers, is just the usual response to any generic announcement, then, right?
Shlomiki @XanderZane FFXIV was THE E3 bomb, and it wasn't even mentioned in this friggin' "Big 3 Breakdown of major announcements". So I don't know how valid your claim of "straight from gamespot" is. *************************************************** FF XIV is a MMORPG game, which most people won't be interested in. I played FF XI and it was a huge grind that got boring after playing it for a full year. I don't expect this new FF MMO game to be any different. I won't even waste my time on that game. Microsoft showed Halo: Reach and no one knew about that either. lol!!
Gamer4Iife Sony > Microsoft >>>>> Nintendo. Microsoft would have won, if it wasn't for the boring casual parts. *********************************************** The first hour and a half of Sony's conference was a borefest. Kaz wouldn't shut up. Took forever to finally get to the PS3 games. So yes, Microsoft won. At least their presentation was exciting all the way through.

@zero- hold up for a second the psps go isn't for people who have psps already its for people who don't have it now and were complaining about its size and having to purchase memory cards... microsoft had way less exclusives and used up their time with meaningless celebrities that have nothing to do with video games... natal, i give you was the cool but they have no clue when its coming out or how its gonna be intergreated to mainstream games but its whatever... Sony owns...
how could sony win with a blatant wii ripoff (is it different at all?!), a psp so expensive and unnecessary there is no reason for people to trade in their 3000s, and no PS3 price drop? they have exclusives, but so do microsoft and to a lesser extent, nintendo.
woe...they are fighting.it`s good for the industry.each have their own speciality.MGS is on XBOX? Woe! Just hope that God Of War 3 is on XBOX. But it will never happen. I guess.Haha.nvm.
Oh, that's crap. Sony announced Final Fantasy XIV, ModNation Racers, Agent, The Last Guardian, Peace Walker, Rock Band Unplugged, Resident Evil Portable, LBP, Gran Turismo, and Assassin's Creed for the PSP. They beat Microsoft by far. And as for Nintendo... well, they're Nintendo. Mario, Zelda, and Metroid. Rinse and repeat.
@Trinity567: i as many people was impressed by natal, milo idk it felt a bit bizarre i think natal was cool, the games weren't very impressive but i think that piece of hardware has great potential
Cows need to stop bashing and face the facts. Microsoft owned the E3 conference. Natal owned obviously. Jealous cows need to stop with the damage control on something so innovative and for real. **************************************************************** yasser37 I KNEW IT! TAKE THAT SONY FANS MS WON! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, it's official now. Straight from Gamespot. Cows can complain and be pissed all they want. Sheep shouldn't have any complaints. Nintendo wasn't even close this year. There were journalist falling asleep at the presentation. That's not good.
NATAL and Milo are promises that will only be a "ooooooo" for ppl and have limited practicality. I cannot take gamespot seriously if they were impressed by these things. Can be certain the xbox xclusives like alan wake and splinter cell (The only 2 decent games shown) will come to PC as well.
I think MS won this E3. Yes sony have good games but they lacked what everyone who doesnt already have a PS3 really wanted, a price cut. I wanted to get a PS3 for uni but at that price, its probably not going to happen. And whats up with the wii knock off? At least Natal is trying to do something new, not that I would buy it for the games. And why does nintendo justify my decision to get rid of my ds and not buy a wii every E3? When was their last original IP? Pikmin? If I didn't buy a gamecube I probably wouldnt complain, but I did and I'm upset. They've got good games but not enough.
At least nintendo actually announced some games worth while, unlike last year. If I remember correctly they only thing they announced was a game that turned the DS into a PDA, and that was it.
Umm..yeah, the only real thing Microsoft had to offer was the camera. Most of the time, they were talking about multi-platform games. Nintendo just talked about same-old, same-old. Wii Motion Plus...WiiSports Resort..."Everyone loving Wii"...Yawn... Sony did a great job showcasing their exclusives and the PSP Go. Although the wand was ultimately inferior to Xbox's tracking camera, Sony's exclusives stole the show from Xbox in my opinion. My take: 1. Sony, 2. Microsoft, 3. Nintendo
Sorry guys but Natal is way more impressive technically than the little Sony wand. The thing is, MS can easily make a wand that goes with natal but sony can't make the pseye magically get full 3D motion detection. Sony won, lol, please. They blatantly twisted the truth to look good. Most of the games they showed are coming to Xbox too. It's not even a contest. However, they did make me consider getting a PS3. Ooo? yes that's right, haha, just because one has a better press conference doesn't mean the other sucks! They were both great. But seriously, if you think magic wand beats natal then you have no idea about the tech involved.
I own both PS3 and 360, and i sold my Wii, that being said, Nintendo is showing ourselves the same games from the last 15 years, Metroid, Mario, go on, i think it was boring. I hate the Wii Mote for PS3, oh yeah the wii mote, not the motion control. I sold my PSPs (i had the 1000 and 2000) but for the owners of the PSP, games on it looks awesome. I was disppointed with the PS3 the only thing that was nice is MAG and FF14 for the fans. (Unc 2, AC2, GoW3) were expected and they were nice but at E3 you have to bring new stuff and Microsoft did, I felt in love with Project Natal, no wii motes (full motion control) plenty of stuff there, new Splinter Cell, Crack 2, FM 3, MGSR, on and on... Gamespot got it right.
The Sony and Microsoft Press conferences destroyed Nintendo. I couldn't even watch the whole Nintendo one because it was too boring to me and hardly anything worth showing accept the usual suspects in Mario, Metroid and Zelda. Sony had the more impressive line up of games, Microsoft looks to have the better motion sensing controller, but only time will tell when games start to come out that will use those things. The games I really can't wait for are: Metal Gear Solid Rising, Splinter Cell Conviction, God of War 3, Drakes Fortune 2, Alan Wake, Heavy Rain, Agent, and FFXIII.
I thought all of them were okay. Just for anyone who thought Nintendo didn't have much, they had a lot more they just didn't show for their conference. E3.Nintendo.com Check it out. ;)
I thought Sony had the best conference. I could have done without the numbers and such at the beginning, but after that it was overall more interesting to me than the other two. Microsoft put on quite a show, though. Afterward, I had my doubts that it could be topped.
I have to say that both sony and microsoft impressed me. Sony impressed with their future releases, and microsoft impressed with titles that we'll see soon! I have to say that God of War will be my reason to purchase a PS3. I hope they release a GoW edition! Both of their cams were basically the same to me. It will really come down to how they utilize the software on each machine. Overall I have to say nintendo lost again; I was excited to see that they were bringing out new big name games (like mario galaxy 2, and metroid) but they aren't scheduled to be released until 2010. That doesn't give me the nintendo fix i need now!
Although nintendo didn't win, they had the biggest surprise announcement with Metroid. Totally caught me off guard, didn't see it coming. At first i thought it was a new Star Fox
Yea it was good conferences but i think Sony won with the 300+ titles that will be released and the fact that they match all 360 games and had more... 360 got metal gear rising while sony got the same metal gear plus a psp metal gear... they got a new halo without master chief and sony got Mag... and im done whew...(braces for impact)
No way was Microsoft top, i ahte how they just talked the whole time and had celebrities who were just there for the extra cash. Sony's Motion Sensitive Controls was awesome, who doesnt want to shoot arrows??
I was impressed w/ both PS3 and the 360! I have a 360 and lost interest in the splinter cell games, but after the demo they showed at the press conference I was blown away!!! Splinter Cell looks like a must have for 360 owners!
Both of Microsoft's and Sony's shows were awesome. I was blown away. For two days already, I still cannot decide who was better. Impressive indeed, though they had their share of disappointments. But overall, it was great. Tons of games that got my attention, plus some pretty big surprises. 2009's going to be a great year for both of them I think.
Yes, yes, Microsoft was the Best at showing off there NEW things, but i think Sony was not far OFF with there "Go Psp" Microsoft have got the cam working best, but we did not see Sony's Eye Toy, now i think, as Sony have be testing this out longer then Microsoft, I think Sony know what there doing, As i was looking at Microsoft Press Conferences, I did see the leg of the man go up then down, he did not move his leg, that's the problem Sony's Eye Toy had, As we have seen so far with Microsoft Hardware, Red death, disks coming out as if some one put a pen to it, Signed By Adam, Microsoft Vista, Ha as bad as Xbox 360,
Great confereces, all 3 of them were good, i really enjoy them, and for me, it wasn't Microsoft the winner, but Sony, anyway, the only thing that i really like about project Natal was the daugther playing it, she was really cute. And what probably was the best announce for me, Metroid, it looks awesome.
