Big Three Breakdown

All 3 conferences were great! (some people would say that I have no life watching 4.5 hours worth of Gaming....but I dissagree!) I think each conference had its highlights; however microsoft did have the most surprises for me. I am expecting '09 to be a great year for gamers and developers!!!

I think they both meaning Sony and Microsoft had good conferences however I enjoyed the Sony one better. My boyfriend and I were considering getting an xbox 360, we both already have xbox but because of all their problems with their system we decided on the ps3. We didn't want to get something that wouldn't work down the line with all the glitches they have and with the natal thing coming out who is to say that will work. Also it would kind of freak me out to have a game that could respond back to me the way that that game did. We do alot of research and to see all the people who had to keep sending their xbox360 system back scared us. And that is alot of money to throw away. Also can't wait until the Final Fantasy stuff comes out, I am really into RPGS

Sony didn't win because they had few exclusive games, the PlaySation Eye is a old idea, just the controller that is new. Natal presents FULL BODY control, many new games, including a MGS for the xbox360, and Nintendo... well, Nintendo is Nintendo. I agree with gamespot, the xbox360 is winning until now.

They sed Microsoft's was the best, then Sony, then Nintendo, what are you talking about??? Don't get too sad that Nintendo wasn't better than Sony HA HA HA!!! The PS3 Motion Controllers and PlayStation Eye had a perfect mix against Project Natal, why didn't Sony win?? WHY?? lol

Awesome E3 Ioved nintendo's press first then microsoft and finally sony

I can say this was one of the best E3's ever, Xbox won with Natal and a quite a few good exclusive games (Forza 3, Splinter Cell, e.t.c.). PS3 I wasn't so excited about but still has some amazing games especially MAG which when I get my PS3 I must have that game. The wand thing they introduced looked like a direct copy of the Wii and a lot of people that got a PS3 got it because they didn't like not using a controller now I can bet they by the wand (hypocrites...). The Wii is coming back into game with a lot of great games probably the most best exclusives outta all the systems... This E3 looks very amazing, they're are about 30 games I must have and a console in general...As for Natal - It'll probably take about a year or two from now to get it up and running

Im not a fan boy of any console, i have all consoles. And in my opinion Microsofts conference was by far the more superior. All you Ps3 fan boys are saying what about GOW3 and Uncharted 2, yes they are both really good looking games, but its not just down to the games, its all bout overall presentation and i think that watching all three conferences MS definatly put in more effort and the execution was great. Additionally The Ps3 wand thingy seriously was that a joke? nothing new and exciting there, it looked pathetic, yes it did appear to be alot smoother on screen and more accurate then the Wii remote but still come on!! also i dont see the point in the PSP go. seems pointless seeing as the PSP (Playtstation PORTABLE) is already portable. if you already have a PSP which you can use on the bus, train plain etc why spend more money to get exactly the same thing???.

I call bs. They didnt even mention Uncharted and Gow3. Oh please... Shove it.

Gimmicks is what won the show... That is too bad.

@maartenvc Lionhead does not own Natal. Microsoft does. Lionhead owns Milo. Microsoft actually shared Natal with developers which is how Milo joined with Natal. Molyneux said in an interview that Microsoft let them start working with it in December 2008.

PC is my platform, I have no real favor for any of the 3, but after seeing all 3 conferences: PS3 = for gamers 360 = for $ & audience wii = for everyone, really everyone Nintendo just continues whatever it was doing. MS doesn't own natal, lionhead does (they made black&white). PS3 won my favor with some great games, and their controller. No, I'm not going to jump in front of my tv MS.

@mathewseal123 I did say Sony Kept most of them not all. Xbox lost a few too Bioshock is one. But the reasoning behind multiplatfom games isn't because the developers feel it's a better console, it's because they make more cash. Very simple. When I see a a PS3 game like god of war 3 or Uncharted going strictly to Xbox then I'll be impressed. A couple? Uncharted 2, God of War 3, FF 14, Gran Turismo, Pixel Junk, MAG, Heavy Rain, Eye Pet, Ratchet and Clank... I can go on.

E3 was awesome........

PS3 exclusives dont matter if it is still so expensive. saying that, I might still get one for xmas, but with a lower memory. and what does the PS3 wand do that wii motion plus and its peripherals doesnt?

yeah, no mention of Uncharted 2 . . . at all in this big three breakdown . . . honestly, to say that there was a clear winner of the three is to be picking and choosing which games/systems an individual favors and follows more closely.

alot of fighting between consoles lol. to be expected, cant we just accept that people have diff consoles for the diff exclusives they want. i got my ps3 cause of god of war as it is my all time fav game. im not saying 360 is bad illd like to have 1 to play halo gears and l4d but i never found halo that intrequing after i played 1 on my bros box but l4d and especially gears is what im missing out on. then again in saying that i prefer fps to tps. it would be so much easier if there were no exclusives then all could play the amazing games coming to each consoles as lets face it both consoles have great exclusives nd some people prefer some types of games to other which is were all the fighting comes from(or jelousy) its a shame we are lowered to insulting other games as they arnt on our console. thats not what gaming is supposed to be about. its about killing people online lol. for me the only game i have got that isnt killing was burnout revenge and LBP (well burnout you could destory cars and lbp you can... slap people.... into fire) and they're great, apart from them i only play shooters which is why i dont care about cameras or any of that stuff as it will never compare to a button controller and an fps foor me (drooling over modern warfare 2) so stop complaining about which is better enjoy what you got and mayby get both ps3 nd 360 (but not the wii never no no never!!) lol

Are you sony fans forgetting something here? A female woman demanstrated the Natal capabilities for Project Natal. If you don't remember, near the end of Microsoft's press conference when the guy came out with a rockstar games jacket on with sunshades. The only reason why you guys are in competition with us is that you have 2 consoles actually 3 against ours but it's just a newer version of PSP anyways and free online. THESE are the ONLY 2 reasons. Nintendo is Dead!!! It's looks like Nintendo is going to have sell it's company to either Sony or us. CHOOSE WISELY. HAHAHAH

Guys you cant argue on who won if all you do is say "the wand looks stupid" or "GOW is so amazing it beats everything!" you need facts or at least opions that fan boys will agree with also. i personaly think that sony is kinda stealing nintendos thunder wile microsoft came up with pretty much its own thing. nintendo just was like hey guys check out thes games....yeah. Im ot saying thats bad but it didnt met sonys or microsofts level. so really it all comes down to who is a fanboy for sony and who is one for microsoft. Personaly i really think microsoft won this. although argueing that there wasnt a live demo of the camera it looked really far ahead of sony when sonys did have good acceracy it still was like a rip off of the wii. also microsoft did have MORE exclusives and TO ME looked far better than PS3's. (fan boy comments..by me) sonys WAND gay name) looks like a vibrator and the light would get very annoying

btkiz... GoW is not a big series and while Uncharted 2 looks to be awesome it's not going to do epic numbers. MAG has already been done to an extent by sony... PlanetSide anyone? They don't have a "true MGS sequal" for the PS3. It's all in preception

@btkiz You didn't watch enough "gaming news" because Natal was demoed live on stage twice. You need to search for the videos on youtube. I didn't see Nintendo's conference but Sony and Microsoft both did very well, imo. This and next year are going to be very good for all gamers.

Never said that, just saying that their exclusives are nothing great. Sony has God of War III AND Uncharted 2, to correct you. Not to mention MAG, and the true Metal Gear Solid Sequel are exclusive to Playstation. And to correct you once more, MGS: Rising (not Raiden) is not an XBOX exclusive.

I dont know why sony fans are saying Microsoft had no exclusives. The only one they had was God of War. We took their Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy away from them. Natal was mind-blowing as PS3's concept is just an improved Wii wand. Also we had exclusives like HALO, ALAN WAKE, SPLINTER CELL, MGS Raiden. SONY JUST GOT P3WND! (p.s. the wand looks like a black stick with a lightbulb attached, not very sleek the guy couldn't even hit the ball with the racquet) There's hardly any reason to get a PS3 now. Assasin's Creed is also on XBOX.... We REck!

I paid very close attention to other gaming news, and at least Sony showed actual live tech demos of its motion sensing technology, rather than a pre-made advertisement video of Natal. Not to mention Sony's motion sensing technology is much more versatile.

Microsoft dominated natal is far superior and if you would have payed attention to other gaming news the xbox is suppose to get a gaming controller similar to the wii and sonys wand thing in the future from a 3rd party this just shows how amazing natal is and microsoft could easily use a regular controller while your playing on natal also forza and alan wake look amazing plus the 2 halo games will definetly be good cus bungie never fails to impress

Gamespot saying Microsoft was the clear winner...what a surprise. Sony clearly showed the better exclusives. GOW III and Uncharted 2 cannot be topped at this E3

I agree that MS won with a slight edge over Sony, but both MS and Sony were leagues ahead of Nintendo.

Microsoft must have spent millions getting all those celebs to show up so I'll give you the press conference win....Think Sony had better exclusives tho...FFIV anyone?

Yeah Microsoft!! Great new motion camera, but with developers like Lionhead behind some new games/apps for it you can't beat it. I really think Natal will overpower Sony's camera.

"aifq_04" If sony loses God of War III to Xbox, then they have pretty much lost their great exclusives and the games that make people buy certain consoles, Xbox would be the console to get if God of War was lost.

How could microsoft win, sony had great exclusives and a motion sensing system that was better, and as the annoucer said "you really need buttons" when using the motion controller as a gun. also why was metal gear said as coming to xbox only, its gonna be on ps3 and pc

@ Cjrock32, the pspg may be targeted at those that found the PSP too difficult to handle, but $249? Really, sony? Maybe if you were thinking of using it as a portable media player but the iPod touch 16GB is $280 and if you ask me, after 3 models in 5 years, I think sony's portable market is pretty saturated. I'm not going to go as far as to say it will flop, but I dont expect it to sell as well as the ds. I will agree that MS spent too much time with celebrities that no one cared about and natal, while it looks interesting, I wouldnt get for the games but for other applications. The main reason I was dissapointed with sony is because I was seriously considering buying a PS3 for uni but no price drop so no dice. all in all, with assassins creed and splinter cell conviction I think its fair to say that the real winners of E3 were ubisoft

i dont know how MS won their confrence was crap all their exclusives were simalir shooters and 1 racing games with some xbox live crappy downloadable games but sony had GOW 3 uncharted 2 MAG FF XIV PSP GO and too many to mention psp games alone with a motion controller that looks awesome and im jusy getting started

I've got my negative comment shields prepared, but you know what? I think nintendo actually has a pretty bright future. Despite what people are saying, they actually have a pretty good selection of games coming out soon. Project natal looks cool, but unless they've allowed hands-on demos, I'm not going to get my hopes up. Sony... doesn't really impress me. They seem to be copying of of nintendo even more now. Other than that. a few cool games, but I'm just not into them. Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

are you insance Zero_epyon?! although nintendo has kept all of its original games since they create them , sony has lost bascaily all of theirs which made the ps2 great. For instance, metal gear solid game coming out for xbox, GTA going multi-playform. Sony has only a couple things xbox does not have, but xbox has alot of stuff sony does not have. @ bxronin 16, microsoft still wins if you buy a game for pc, instead of xbox. so good job

I like how people take an opinion and parade it around as if it were a fact. Here's my take. The Main reason Xbox has been in the lead is because of exclusives. Their exclusives shrunk this year and will continue to shrink as developers choose to make multi-platform games. Sony has actually managed to keep most of it's games exclusive and add on to them. On top of that keeping up with innovations such as the cameras. Microsoft will soon be exposed for their hype-mongering and uncreative greed.

I'd agree with the overall assessment. All three had some good exclusives coming for their consoles. I'm glad that E3 as I've known it is back.

I really dont fancy the new Sony motion controllers, but my girlfriend sat there with a cheeky grin on her face and her legs crossed tight. ;-)

While all 3 companies announced great new games and stuff, Microsoft owned, straight up. Project Natal looks freaking amazing!

splinter cell isn't even an exclusive it's coming out for the pc...
