Y'all heard and watched. If u havent played MGS4 then you havent played 2008 game of the Year and the best game yet to be ever produced in the history of gaming!

This game is by far the best game I ever played, and the story is just breath taking. And we're not even talking about the Metal Gear Online now, which is probably the most fun I've ever had on my PS3...

so glad i got this game first day!!! but honestly, everyone who thinks it shouldnt of won, your idiots, like really, you could take any MGS game and pit it against any other game out there, and based on the time that they both came out, the MGS game would win hands down, im even talking about the ones for MSX id take the first game "Metal Gear" ove mario any day.

Finally a game of the year winner that hasn't been released in the fall or winter of this year.

For those who say its just a movie are retarded......in movie all you can do is WATCH........in MGS4 you can WATCH AND INTERACT with the character.......

It doesn't matter whether you loved it, or loathed it, MGS4 was just simply a great game. Epic cutscenes that Hollywood would be jealous of, more guns that you can fit in a knapsack, a cola drinking monkey, it all adds up to a classic. Even if you hated it, this game will stick with you for a long time to come. The microwave corridor is the most awe-inspiring moment of any game I've played. Reaching the end with both your health bar and your psyche gauge at zero and still going, driving purely by the strength of Snake's (your) will just said everything about the game that occurred to that point. You have to play this game. Even if you borrow it from a friend, or nick a go on their PS3, everyone needs to share in this. It really is that good.

I haven't played MGS4. I just don't think that I can get past that olive green Maxi Pad he wears on his forehead.. He just looks so damn stupid. And the graphics fail to impress me as being next gen. IMO, Fallout 3 shoulda won. It's platform neutral and an amazing game.

really makes me wonder how they could give GTA IV a 10. It' is absolutely obvious that GTA IV is not the caliber of game that MGS 4 is.

its good that MGS4 wins,but the other nominess are just bad as the wii in general,which is sad,b/c 08 had LOADS of great games,and only a few of them were nominated (Gears,r2,lbp,valkyria chronicles,also,Burnout WTF? NHL????? braid???!??!?!)

MGS4 totally deserves it. As the editors said in the video, it definitely had the most 'wow' moments in gaming this year. Kojima created an artistic masterpiece, blurring the lines between cinema and games. The microwave tunnel / "boss fight" was simply stunning -- and yes, it was a boss fight -- but against whom? The microwave tunnel? Yourself? Kojima? Moreover, do you give up or continue? Do you play or do you watch the split screen action? That's a loaded question, since you can't watch the cinema without continuing to play (advancing Snake forward through the tunnel). Who's playing whom? Are you playing as Snake, trying to survive and get to the server room, or are you the camera operator / director, spinning the film reel (mashing the triangle button)? And the act which takes place in the beautifully rendered Eastern Europe setting...simply outstanding. Evoking themes and motifs from cinema such as Fritz Lang's "M" (anyone notice the whistling reference), and Carol Reed's film noir masterpiece "The Third Man" (the whole sneaking / chase sequences in both the film and this game), Kojima paid homage to his love of film while melding his artistic vision into gameplay form and function. There are so many moments like these in MGS4. It truly is a masterpiece that should be experienced by everyone.

I knew it, everybody knew it, I got it right. No competition, it should win, and it won.

I am happy with MGS 4, but actually thought GTA 4 might win. I am glad Fallout 3 didn't, I beat it, but it just wasn't the same quality of game as the previous two games I mentioned.

It is good that MGS4 won, but what pisses me of is that the other nominees sucks. they should had better games than NHL09, Braid and alike.

I knew MGS4 would win, I personally don't like it, I was hoping Fallout 3 would get it actually. I fail to see why games like Little Big Planet, Gears Of War 2 & Fable 2 weren't nominees :? weird.

TO: DJHaha While I agree that MGS4 should have won, GTA4 is really not just a "senseless" shooter as you have so ignorantly put it. GTA4 tells an epic story as well just of a different type and setting.
