Bastion On Switch - 12 Minutes of Gameplay | PAX West 2018

Supergiant Games' classic game Bastion is making its way to Nintendo Switch. We got hands on time with it at PAX West 2018.

Many independent hits from the past have the opportunity for a second life and to garner a new fanbase, which seems to be the case for Supergiant Games' debut Bastion. The isometric action RPG first hit the Xbox 360 and PC in July 2011, but it's coming back around for Nintendo Switch on September 13, 2018. We had a chance to play the Switch version at PAX West 2018 and we're happy to report that it's every bit as great as we remember, which you can see in the video above.

For the uninitiated, Bastion earned critical acclaim for its beautiful art direction and original soundtrack. Game artist Jen Zee created a colorful world devastated by an apocalyptic event known as The Calamity with a hand-painted style. Composer Darren Korb crafted a powerful soundtrack that fused elements of trip-hop and acoustic western instrumentals--a few tracks featured vocals by Ashley Barrett that drove home Bastion's narrative themes. Logan Cunningham's role as Rucks provided a bold, charismatic narration that wrapped the game's story together.

Bastion has been available on a number of platforms including the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and iOS in addition to the original PC and Xbox 360 releases.
