August is upon us, which means we have a new batch of Netflix recommendations for you. A lot of great shows and movies are coming to the streaming site this month, so let's dive in.
First off, Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins has come to Netflix, which famously revamped and darkened Batman's story. Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, is also coming out with a new animated series called Disenchantment that will be exclusive to Netflix.
Lord Of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring has also been added to the streaming service. Peter Jackson's adaptation of JRR Tolkien's novel is as stunning as it was successful, and hopefully the other two movies will be soon to follow. There is also a wacky Bill Murray movie about the military called Stripes coming in August.
As far as shows, the highly-anticipated second season of Ozarks comes out this month, which is widely considered to be one of Netflix's best originals. Season 2 of The Good Place, a quirky show which hilariously explores the afterlife, has also been added.
This month, Netflix will also be getting some oscar-bait. Million Dollar Baby and the Coen Brothers' No Country For Old Men, both cleaned up at the academy awards, and will soon be available for streaming.
