Apex Legends: New Legends And Characters We Want To See

Dave and Tam get together to talk about what other champions may fit into the Apex Legends/Titanfall universe. Disgraced pilot? Sentry building defender? A DOG?

Apex Legends has seen incredibly successful since its launch in February, and one of the key factors in this is the distinct Legends that players take control of as they fight for supremacy. From Wraith to Lifeline and Caustic to Mirage, each of the characters is interesting from a visual and gameplay standpoint.

Characters with mechanical idiosyncrasies are what sets the Apex Legends battle royale experience apart from contemporaries such as Fortnite and PUBG, and developer Respawn is planning to release new ones. One is rumored to be part of the upcoming Battle Pass, which releases at some unconfirmed point in March. In fact, since originally publishing this video, the new Legend leaked by way of an Origin listing. Octane, as he's called, has not yet been officially revealed, but he's looking likely as the first addition to the roster.

As fans of Apex Legends, Dave and Tamoor thought it'd be fun to come up with some character concepts of their own. They're not professionals, so these designs are based on their own tastes and whims, but they do try and think about the current state of Apex, any potential gameplay and mechanical holes that we thing could be plugged, or just interesting ideas they think would be fun to see in the world of Apex.

In the lead up to the launch of the Apex Legends Battle Pass, Respawn has released a new patch which makes some balance changes. It has also outlined some of the things its working on addressing in the future. The most notable upcoming change is to the hitboxes, which have been the subject of some criticism.

In GameSpot's Apex Legends review, critic Phil Hornshaw awarded the game 9/10. "Apex Legends is a mix of smart shooter ideas that makes for a competitive, team-based game that gets at all the best parts of battle royale while addressing a lot of the weaknesses," he said. "Respawn's intense focus on team play makes Apex more than just a worthy addition to the genre; it's an indicator of where battle royale should go in the future."
