Always Check The Windows - The Walking Dead: The Final Season Gameplay

Check out 12-minutes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season gameplay. The Walking Dead: The Final Season comes out August 14th on Xbox One, PC, PlayStation 4 and the Nintendo Switch.

This year, Telltale Games will bring its long-running Walking Dead series to a close, with the first episode of its final season launching on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on August 14. After going through many trials and tribulations, the season will be the culmination of Clementine's story. No longer the lost young child, Clementine has become a "fierce and capable survivor," but will face perhaps her greatest challenges yet in the final chapter.

"After years on the road facing threats both living and dead, a secluded school might finally be her chance for a home," Telltale previously said. "But protecting it will mean sacrifice. Clem must build a life and become a leader while still watching over AJ, an orphaned boy and the closest thing to family she has left. In this gripping, emotional final season, you will define your relationships, fight the undead, and determine how Clementine's story ends."

The Walking Dead: The Final season is set to feature a number of changes, with a new over-the-shoulder camera system being the most notable. There will also be a new "Graphic Black" art style, unscripted combat, and "new types of choices" to grapple with.

Ahead of its launch, we got to check out the game and in the video above you can watch 12-minutes of gameplay to get an early-look at the final season.

Although The Walking Dead is wrapping up, Telltale has another big project in the pipeline: The Wolf Among Us Season 2. Originally slated to launch in 2018, The Wolf Among Us Season 2 has now been pushed back into 2019 "as the result of a few fundamental changes at Telltale since we first announced the game last summer." This is referring to the major layoffs that hit the studio late last year.

In 2017, Telltale also teased that it was working on a new IP. "An original, new IP is definitely still in our future," said former Telltale Games head of communications Job Stauffer. "It may not be as immediate as the next few things we have coming up. We haven't been able to say a lot about it in the last few years."
