Every Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Final Smash Move (So Far)

There are 75 characters is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and they each have a flashy and powerful Final Smash. Here's every single one we've found so far in the new Nintendo Switch game.

Including the three Mii fighters, there are 75 different characters in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and they each have a powerful Final Smash move that allows them to finish off a weakened opponent in a devastating and flashy way. In the video above, we showcase all of them so you know what trick you have up your sleeve--or what you might be about to face--when the Smash Ball item appears on the screen.

Many of the characters utilize the same Final Smash they've had since Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Mario and Ike, for example, still finish off their opponents with Mario Finale and Great Aether. However, a few characters, such as Samus, utilize the updated Final Smash they got in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U. The biggest change you'll see is in characters who've previously used Final Smashes that powered them up, such as Sonic and Pikachu. Although Final Smashes like Super Sonic and Volt Tackle still exist, you won't have direct control over them. Instead the characters will fly about the screen randomly, and you'll have some control over the general direction of the attack.

Of course it wouldn't be a new Super Smash Bros. game without some new attacks, and quite a few characters use Final Smashes they've never had before. Fox, Falco, and Wolf have abandoned their Landmaster Final Smash for an aerial Team Star Fox / Team Star Wolf attack, Yoshi now uses Stampede instead of Super Dragon, and Zelda has given up her Light Arrow for Triforce of Wisdom. There are plenty of other changes, so you won't be able to completely rely on your past experiences with this franchise when it comes to knowing which Final Smashes characters use.

New characters that have never been seen in a Super Smash Bros. game before can be divided into two camps, and it typically determines which type of Final Smash they have. The brand-new characters, such as Incineroar and Inkling, have their own unique Final Smash attacks. Echo Fighters--which are copies of old characters with slight tweaks to their attacks, movement speed, or defense--usually use a Final Smash that's a variation of the character they copy. For example, Isabelle uses Dream Town Hall, which is like Villager's Dream Home, and Dark Samus uses Phazon Laser, which is very similar to Samus' Zero Laser.

In our Super Smash Bros. Ultimate review-in-progress, Edmond Tran gave the game a 9/10, writing, "Situational downers don't stop Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from shining as a flexible multiplayer game that can be as freewheeling or as firm as you want it to be. Its entertaining single-player content helps keep the game rich with interesting things to do, as well as bolstering its spirit of loving homage to the games that have graced Nintendo consoles. Ultimate's diverse content is compelling, its strong mechanics are refined, and the encompassing collection is simply superb."
