I don't think that you realize that as long as a media organization needs advertising as its revenue, it's going to have sponsored shows like these.

@Gelugon_baat @sugarboy79 The logistics of production aren't important to me. I don't like 'sponsored content' on journalism websites whether it's Slate or Gamespot. I'm not interested in my options of media consumption being dictated by the highest bidder. If I was, I'd just watch TV.

Perhaps, but I would say here that if this was the case, this is a case of staffers getting picked for lay-offs for telling what the site's viewers don't want to hear.

I like to think that one of the reasons that Carolyn Petit and Tom McShea left GameSpot is because CBSI forced this show on GameSpot's servers.

(By the way, they are actually laid off. Go figure.)

With that said, some of you should know that a separate team, which is not composed of GameSpot staffers but rather is made up of former XBLIG personae and "professional" gamers, is producing the episodes.

Doesn't change the fact that this show is taking up space on GameSpot's site though.

Also, if you don't want this show on GameSpot, you are going to have to buy up CBSI and force this show off with an executive order. You can say that "nobody" watches this on GameSpot, but you haven't noticed that episodes of this show have been circulating around on social media.

That Gamespot would produce an Acrivision sponsored Call of Duty show, is appalling.

If I wanted to watch an infomercial, I'd go watch some old Billy Mays videos. At least he was charismatic.
