Tom Clancy's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - sounds good
@edviges Probably the Greatest INSULT to All Tom Clancy games.
Too soon gone.
What a great source of super novels and games. An icon in the industry.
Go softly into that sweet sleep.
omg stop showing blacklist godamn what a disgrace
fools ... this where just Military shooters that had the Name clancy slapped on it ... fools, truly
RIP tom your games are awesome as you was <3
Tom Clancy, what a legend.. RIP sir..
RIP good sir. You have brought joy to an untold amount of people with your fantastic mind and you have left us far to soon yet your legend will live on with us, I raise a glass to you and all you have done. Fair Well on the long dark night.
Rest In Peace Tom Clancy. You have brought us great things.
Stellar tribute. He will be greatly missed. I will never forget playing Rainbow Six for the first time with my father. Rest in Peace, sir.
I have been gaming for 25 years now and I have never played a Tom Clancy game. How is this possible?
@thomasmccormack I do not know how this is possible. Go to the store and buy RainbowSix Vegas.
@zillaman101 @thomasmccormack Actually, go buy Rainbow Six (not anything made by Ubi) and fire up an old computer and play that instead. Vegas is worlds apart from the game that won GOTY honors. Failing that, Ghost Recon, another GOTY winner, is a good bet too.
I still remember only buying an Xbox was for Splinter Cell. RIP
Tom Clancy ... great gamedesigner and ... wait a sec !
I lost count of the amount of hours I spent/wasted on Red Storm Rising on the Amiga... I loved that subsim because it was so detailed compared to what else was around (i.e. Microprose's Silent Service). Then Ubisoft started to dumb-down their games, apparently forgetting what made them great in the first place. RIP T.C. Greatly missed.
Brings back so many MEMORIES. Down memory LANE right now, spent so many hours throwing smoke grenades and hiding in the fog with thermal vision on. Oh Vegas 1 and 2, TOUCH ME. @_@
Success in Movies, Books, and Videogames. Thank you for sharing your creativity with us.
I will miss your Splinter Cell games.
thanks for the great game Tom.
He'll be much missed,Unlike the awful R6 games after Raven Shield.
@CUDGEdave Worst of all is that the awful arcade R6 and Ghost Recon games that came after R6-3 and Ghost Recon 2 are the highest rated ones, those games didn't deserve Tom Clancy's endorsement...
@Payasoplas @CUDGEdave I really loved R6-V2, the classics will always be the best but I thought that one deserved the title.
@Payasoplas @CUDGEdave Agreed sir.
it's a shame that he won't be able to see Rainbow 6 Patriots and The Division
Good tribute to an amazing author. Good books, although most of the newer generation of players probably don't know anything about tom clancy other than his name is plastered on many games, even though I doubt he had little input or knowledge of half of them. He is very well known as a writer, and really old pc games, but it's a mistake to think anything modern is actually made by him in any way.
Although this may seem a little out of place or offense because it's off topic, I apologize in advance. But why not make a tribute for Mr.Yamauchi? He imo is a forerunner for probably one of the most influential people in gaming history, and is also more relevant to gaming today, then Clancy ever really was (Clancy the person, not the label "Tom Clancy").
He'll be missed.
One of the biggest war propaganda writers of our time. This man CERTAINLY does not deserve tribute or honoring for all his glamorification of the military machine and extreme patriotism.
He was a great author about his chosen subject in the same way that John Grisham is a great author in his chosen subject - the legal system. both have shown that all is never as it seems in the establishment. Although he was a USA patriot he did sometimes highlight that America is not as good as some people think it is.But you are indeed entitled to your opinion of the man.
@Vienreich Whether you agree with his politics or not he was a good writer. As for glorification of the Military machine he is quite candid about how easy it is for even the best of soldiers to die in combat and "Clear and Present Danger" is about how a high ranking politician or Intelligence director can subvert the system. I don't personally agree with his politics and he is very patriotic but I wouldn't go so far as to say extreme. He was a good writer of Military/Political fiction regardless of political affiliation.

his whole career could be summed up in the "America **** yeah" video
RIP Tom. I have read all of his Ryanverse novels and a couple of Op-Center and maybe one Net Force though those two series were not written by him. The Ryanverse books were great. I was reading Rainbow Six (first edition hardcover) and one day, was reading the local paper and read that there was a video game to go with it. I stated right then that I would buy a PC just so I could play that game.
What a blast, especially playing on Mplayer. The SP had features not seen in any game previously nor seen since (real world time for healing and the loss of a team member if killed on a mission). I miss that type of game. Heck, the planning stage of R6/RS were the game. The action took all of 3 or 4 minutes if you set up your mission right.
@quakke Actually Rainbow Six Vegas is much different than COD. In RSV, you die with about 4 shots. In COD, you can take 15 shots. In COD, people are always jumping and drop shotting and throwing frag grenades 2000 feet. COD players also constantly do 360 quickscopes and no scopes. RSV doesn't allow any of that, there is no jump button, no prone button, and slow sensitivity to prevent trick shots. Not to mention there is no cover and peek mechanics in COD. So RSV is nothing like COD.
