Do you know if XCOM 2: War of the Chosen has also included the previous dlc, or i have to buy it seperately? Thanks

I just played my first playthrough of Xcom 2...got REAL OWNED, especially by the super aliens that are massively overpowered against my measly, well armed lieutenants and majors, lol. But love X-COM, but wasnt ready for the huge difficulty spike, from the original. It was tough as nails on normal. Especially with that crazy over powered hybrid engineered alien from hell.

They should have incorporated Long war aliens in this. The hero classes seem very unbalanced.

@nibbin1191: Wasn't the case for Enemy Within, and it isn't the case now. The new aliens seem to be midrange units, and once the Chosen are eliminated, the hero units will stomp everything.

The enemies are not stronger outside the new aliens.

@nibbin1191: But that doesn't mean it won't have EW's late game problems of the heroes simply being too powerful for the aliens to where the end game is a cakewalk.

Long War aliens solve the problem of easy aliens in the end game by powering up early to mid game aliens.

@texasgoldrush: play it on the hardest difficulty then in ironman, with all the cheat style gameplay turned off with only the options that make it harder or interesting turned on. Its not easy at all and XCOM 2 is definitely not easy.

@nibbin1191: Read what I said. Overall EW is harder....until the late game where you not only have tier 3 equipment, but biomods as well. The problem with EW is that its harder in the beginning than in the end, the difficulty is completely backwards. Its the same with XCOM 2. Long War alien mod fixes that problem.

I'll be waiting for this to be on sale. Here's my personal reasoning.

I played XCOM 1 and enjoyed it till I hit the "aliens invade my base" mission and I was trapped in an always lose situation. (If I somehow won, I'd still have most my soldiers killed. Gosh, what a fun game...) Seems that decisions I made earlier in the game just painted me in a corner. I could not win. I watched YouTube videos and somehow everyone had better weapons than I had... So I quit the game. :-(

I have XCOM 2, but haven't started it yet. I've read "everywhere" that it's even tougher than XCOM 1. When I do eventually play, my mindset will be one of enjoying till I lose the game. I won't play to win, but rather to enjoy the shortened experience.

Because of this experience, I'll be waiting for a future sale to buy this. I do love the series but I guess I'm really not that good at it. Oh heck, I s*ck, and for that I don't won't pay top dollar.

As an aside, be happy that you all aren't dependent on me to "save the earth" because it seems I'd get you all killed. Fine for a game, but not for real life... ;-)

Glad that they are making more though. It is a beautiful series.

@Louis: Xcom 2 is pretty tough for me and I breezed through the first game. You also can't take your time neither as the game has you fight against the clock. Still very fun game; I probably just need to start over :P

@tonyleo01: Agree. In XCOM 2 it's best to start on the easiest difficulty and plan on reloading saves a lot. The game is punishing to learn. The flip side of that is the randomly generated levels and extensive customization gives it a much longer tail than the Enemy Within.

@tonyleo01: Oh gosh, those timed missions of XCOM 1. Ha, I hated those. But I did get the point of them. It did force me to play differently. Though it also put me in the position of having to loose good soldiers to beat the clock. (Honestly, I saved and reloaded a lot!)

Sometime this year I want to start up XCOM 2 and try it. Does look good.

If the world is ever invaded, I'll vote to put you in charge. You can have me cleaning your office at XCOM command. Maybe let me go on a mission on my birthday...

"Louis, cross this street in the open so we can see who shoots at you. We'll kill them then. Don't worry buddy, you are part of the team!"

Lol.
