So are we ignoring all the games released prior to 2005? Pretty much sums up mary's experience in the gaming industry.
did she said "have some sex" at the beginning ?
@kaalana@dantesergei: thanks shi** sound is to blame
Disqualifying Towerfall: Ascension is very silly on your part; you should give it a try! The co-op quest mode with my roommate on the couch was the highlight of my gaming last year! Played all the way through on normal and hardcore!

@gameboy8877: You make a good point, I shouldn't disqualify it. I did play through the campaign co op with a friend. But I found it reallllly short, and there's no story or anything substantial. It's great to learn the basics and pick up some achievements, but I did enjoy playing it. :)
In recent generation/s my favorites rank-
Dragon's Crown, SofR Remake v5.01, Guacamelee, Castle Crashers, & Rayman Legends
The Chaos Engine, Bare Knuckle III, Baburu Boburu, GA: The Revenge of Death Adder, & Battletoads
"Best couch co-op games ever to grace my living room"? All of these were from the the last or current gen. Did she not ever play games before then? Streets of rage, Time splitters (any of them), Champions of Norrath, Serious Sam on the OG Xbox had 4 player splitscreen coop, that Ninja turtles game on the snes were awesome games that I had a blast playing.
@animalmother013: I wish you could've seen my face at reading Timesplitters and Champions of Norrath. It was like that meme with the huge eyes that is squeeing with joy! Good memories!
Yess me and my buddy used to sit back and play champions of Norrath for 8 hrs at a time haha. OH and I'll never forget about the awesome "Warriors" game = coop bliss with a homie.
@animalmother013: I originally had a much long list including TMNT and Sunset Riders, but I thought it would be better to focus on stuff that came out in the last few years, although Castle Crashers is pretty old now that I think about it.
@hotkoolaid: there is an arcade/Bar here in downtown that we can play The Old Simpsons games and TMNT. and Xmen oh man so fun but i suck at them now :(
@hotkoolaid@animalmother013: OMG... Sunset Riders... Rented so many times from Video Shark back in the 90s.
@animalmother013: Of course you leave out "SOME OF" but nice try

@animalmother013: turtles in time!
@rickphoenixxx@animalmother013: hell yeah
More traditional couch co-op would be amazing now with huge TV's dirt cheap now. Why has the industry moved away from it? Well to play most all games NOW with a bud you need TWO consoles TWO copies of the game AND pay for online:(
Great vídeo, But I have to say that I prefer to see this kind of feature as a writen article.
My kids love playing Lego Marvel Super Heroes co-op
MORTAL KOMBAT Shaolin Monks ... although that was a ps2 game.
I really liked Obscure which is now on Steam - although I am not sure how it holds up today
Yo how good is Castle Crashers.
double dragon series
mario kart series
@DWalker131: Bomber-Man is a versus series when it did couch gameplay.
@RSM-HQ@DWalker131: bomberman is not a versus series only, it had the missions, but you are correct, i don't think anyone plays the story mode, just bombing each other is more fun lol
Mario kart isn't co op thought unless you consider being on the same kart in double dash
Kirby Return to Dream Land, New Super Mario Bros Wii, House of the Dead Overkill, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Hyrule Warriors, Nintendo Land, Lego Marvel, Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, New Super Mario Bros U, Pikmin 3, Minecraft, Dragons Crown, Little Big Planet, and Ratchet and Clank, just to name a few.
@iandizion713: Donkey Kong should have got more love, and Pikmin 3 was alllmost on the list. I should do another one of these.
You missed Divinity: Original Sin. L4D is fun but...it gets old real quick. Would have been last on my list.
@Anteares: that's what I thought first. But it's not quite the "couch" coop game, right?
'Splosion Man and Ms. 'Splosion Man have dedicated co-op campaigns that are perfect for local play.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2.....Best Coop Campaign
trine 2!Lots of fun with this one, with 3 friends in the couch!
@skrypa: Really loved Trine 2 as well. Its really relaxing to play.
