Although it has no Multiplayer, this games solid design, and over the top action, is the definition of Fun.

User Rating: 7.5 | Vanquish PS3
It's been awhile since I got Vanquish but all I can really say is that what it sets out to accomplish it does with flying colors.

This is a Sci Fi 3rd person shooter where the hillariously stereotyped "Evil Space Ruskies" attack America and its up to You and your prototype power suit to kick ass and take names in an over the top high speed shoot out with Giant Robot crabs that shoot about a bazillion missiles and then transform into Giant robots, speeding trains, the "Chainsodomizer" (my roommate nicknamed that...you'll know it when you see it) troop transport.

Your suit not only doubles as body armor, but with built in jet propulsion and a time slowing mechanic, you can pull of some pretty kickass stunts. Its not as overpowering as it may sound, theres a limit on how much you can do @ once. A bar represents your suits cooling system, Using the jets or time slowing mechanic will fill the bar, when its full your suit overheats and you become very vulnerable. Its a risky balancing act. Also using a melee attack such as powered punches or a Dash drop kick etc will also overheat your suit, so knowing when to dash attack or using melee is vital and should be saved for a last resort. Or if you just wanna be fancy.

Your suit also memorizes Gun types and allows you to store upgrades and 3 guns in your suit for rapid switching to cover for various situations. ( i haven't tried the DLC so i had to stick with 3) I dont want to spoil anything but there are some really silly moments, just watch a trailer/review video and you'll see some of them. Also your protagonist (well all the characters really) sound like their gargeling gravel but it just adds to the hillarity in my opinion.

Also name any other game where you can smoke a cigarette and use the heat from the cig to distract enemy robots. Theres a button dedicated to smoking, yeah its as awesome as it sounds.

I gave this an 7.5/10 mainly because even though the gameplay is excellent, and It was just awesome as hell, theres no Multiplayer or Co-op, and no online components except for leaderboards in the challenge mode (i think) so the only replay value is the story and a challenge mode. I will say this though, that challenge mode deserves a medal for being Hard as hell. Harder difficulties are the only replay value really, and in a game that costs $59.99 at launch i'd hope there would be more content. However even with that said, it was a hell of a ride, while it lasted =/
