I just finished Vanquish and thought "I have to review this game". What a great ride! From start to finish, this game packs a punch that is challenging, super fun, and never gets frustrating. The battles are such heart pounding excitement that even after dying 100 times I still wanted more. At certain point, I was yelling at the screen as I slid across the battlefield blasting everything that moved with my maxed out shotgun. The bosses in this game are crazy awesome and they just pop out of nowhere. The weapons upgrades are the reason why I'll play the game again. I need to see what some of these guns will do when they're maxed out. But what I love most about this game is that it doesn't take itself too seriously like so many other games. It's a thrill ride and never slows down. The cut sceens are short and not-so-sweet. The dialog is cheesy and meaningless. You're just thrown into battle and it NEVER gets old. The final battle is epic. And Sega nailed the first credit roll that is actually fun (that I've seen). I'm on board for Vanquish 2. If you're looking for a great game, buy Vanquish.
Like i said, this is definitly the first game that has a perfect review from gamespot, although i would give a 9.5 instead of a 9 as score for the following thing: you could actually say this game is a genre on it's own.... Read Full Review
