I am moderately enjoying this release. Being a fan of TBS-RPG's this one is right up my alley. I have never played the originals in this series so I cannot give a comparison in that way. What I can provide is that this game's combat engine works well. There are a lack of variety of upgrades of the various sorts (weapons, armor, spells) but enough to keep you going to the next shop for your next upgrade fix. The gameplay graphics are ok it is that the story line graphics are horrible. Its like your on a time machine back to the early 90's when it goes into story mode. No voice acting just some script next to avatars, come on Konomi, that's lame. Other than the graphics in story mode it is a respectable and in fact rather addictive little game. The battles are long and upon victory very satisfying, although a little less challenging that I had hoped. For the novice to turned based strategy it is probably a fine choice to get your feet wet. For the veteran it might be a let down. Although a veteran to this genre of game, for 16 bucks it was well worth it for me. Hoping for plenty of DLC!!!
