Valkyria Chronicles is a breath of fresh air to a genre that has become quite predictable.

I over looked this game for quite a long time. I just happened to come across and play the demo for the game and I was blown away by the combat system that SEGA had created. SEGA had became quite a dead company to myself only making fighting, sports, and Sonic games for the WII. But this game made me go haywire after playing the demo. I HAD to have it so I went out and bought the ONLY copy left in town. So after completing the game I was in shock on how well the story went as well as the battle system that I had loved had worked out. Its a lengthly game by todays standards. (15-20 hours)
Theres alot to love when it comes to the great characters, story and battle system, but outside that theres nothing at all worth mentioning. No exploration, back tracking or replaying. The story is very straight forward and the combat is compelling and sometimes epic. It has downloadable content which adds a side mission for your characters and an alternate view on the story through the enemies Valkyria, Silveria. Both are fun and add about 6-7 missions all together to the game. All and all I'd recomment Valkyria Chronicles to anyone who likes Action Role Playing Games as a must play.
