Want the best alternative to Trials HD? Look no further. Urban Trial Freestyle it is.
I admit I barely played Trials but the little I played of it was enough for me to baffle over the discrepancy between both titles. I can understand Trials having better scores as it has more modes than UTF such as multiplayer - both online as offline - and level creating tools but when it comes to gameplay both arent far from each other. Both are amazing at what they do with UTF being a little more heavy on cinematic approach in its levels. Very inventive and impressive moments the player has the chance to experiment in UTF.
Graphically the game is ok. Is not very impressive visually but its not butt ugly either. Its serviceable. The sound and music are downsiders though. The music is forgetable and I found a couple of sound glitches where the motor sound got off even if the motorcycle was running.
The game presents two types of challenges: Timed ones where the player has to reach the finish line within a time limit and Stunt challenges where, as the name says, the player must complete a series of stunts to reach a certain score. Each one of these challenges gives a number of stars needed to unlock other challenges thus inviting the player to replay levels and unlock more stars. Its a lot of fun trying to have a five star rating in each level though I'll warn you it can be very hard at times to do it.
The game has some customization with the bike and the biker but the options are so few its not even worth mentioning. The bike customization can improve its performance considerably though.
After each section of the game is completed a specific challenge is unlocked wich can also be very fun. Nothing to play a lot though, only ocasionally.
All in all, Urban Trial Freestyle is a very good game that I can recomend to everyone. Dont let the unfair scores put you off and give it a try. This game deserves it.
