The story is entertaining, the graphics are decent and the characters are interesting... all of which make up for slightly repetitive gameplay. That said, all the destinations are interesting and you'll run into some great enemies and intimidating bosses. Speaking of destinations, the graphics are quite amazing for a handheld console. I've tried many other PSP games and I'm hard pressed to find any that come close in graphic quality. The game isn't that hard but there are a few spots that will challenge you - especially later in the game. My favourite feature is all the equipment you can collect and use to make a very powerful character. I also like that when you change equipment, the character actually changes in looks. Great attention to detail. I love RPGs and this game is one of the best for the PSP.
