A spectacular runner up to the 2009 game of the year but unable to out-do its predecessor.

Naughty Dog continues their success with the Uncharted series. The same concept is used here as was in the last. Beautiful locations, flawless graphics, edge of your seat cinematics. But did they do as well as UC2? No, but that is not a bad thing. Lets face it UC2 is a really really hard game to overcome. From now on in their careers Naughty Dog will probably be doing everything in their power to create games either better or equivalent to UC2. But back to UC3, its an amazing game. All our favorite characters make a return, Drake, Sully, Chloe, Elena, and some new faces are introduced. The battle system uses the same engine as UC2 and its a very good system I think. The AI is a bit smarter and harder to kill this time around and I'm glad for that. They also use strategies that I really like. If u are holed up behind cover while in battle the AI usually uses two weapons to get u to get out in the open. Either they will send an armored soldier your way blasting at u with a shotgun and force u out, or bomb u with grenades from all directions. I love the level design. The environments are beautiful. U find yourself in France, Cartagena, the deserts of Arabia and the tombs of Syria. And the live action scenes are stunning. The fire scene is truly heart pounding and proves that Naughty Dog still has it. New weapons are available and some are plain fun to shoot. Treasure has once again been scattered about and some will require some serious concentration to find. The puzzles are still there and once again are not too hard, but a couple will make halt your quest for a little bit. The story is quite simple, Drake is on the hunt to find out what his ancestor Francis Drake (hence the ring he wears around his neck belonged to Francis) really did on his voyage for Queen Elizabeth centuries ago. And the story is fairly interesting, throwing good twists in the plot at key times. You also get to learn a lil bit more about Nathan Drake in this game and how he started his treausre hunting ways. Althogether, a great great game. Didn't quite live up to the last one, but if u liked the series u definitely need to go get this one as it sticks with what works and what makes this one of the best series out there!
