Not as bad as the pros review it if you are an XCOM fan as no other games come close to bringing back XCOM.

As an XCOM fan, I do not understand why other XCOM fans are bashing this game up when this is just about the only game out there that has brought the XCOM concept and gameplay onto the modern PC with modern graphics and lots of modern new touches!

Some touches I like about this game having played aftermath like 3 times is the upgradable weapons with weapons accessories, different races of squad mates each with their own special pros and cons, training in specialized fields give them special abilities rather than just increasing stats (I totally love the ranger training which allows the ranger to dual wield weapons! Imagine dual wielding 2 upgraded uzis, or even 2 close combat knives for close combat mayhem!). These are improvements that we don't even find in XCOM and adds a lot of different tactical dimensions to the game.

OK, the game sucks in that it kinda reuses the same few maps over and over again, just like they did in aftermath but the game play and various mission types still kept me going on all of these missions especially when you can actually play some tricks to get better weapons on certain mission types.

All in all, if you are an XCOM fan, you definitely need to give it a chance despite all the unfair review and make up your own mind. Oh, it won't work with integrated graphics card no matter how much you tweak it, thats the only thing that kept me from playing it the first 3 months I bought the game until I bought my core I5 gaming rig with independant graphics card.
