A game that will subit your hands and mind
But that turns to two, then three, then four and so on.
The controls are great, and its not just something you can go in button mashing on a difficulty higher then easy. You'll get taken to the ground and submitted, or a foot to the head and your back to the floor. So use your mind in this game and you might win the fight.
You can get knocked out in the first hit of the game or in the last seconds of the last round and submitted anywhere. That's what make this game so great. And I'm sure some people might find it unfair but hey its like a real fight. You can be getting owned the whole fight and one false move by the opponent and you have come right back and won.
It uses all the buttons very well, especially the Right Analog Stick. It involves alot of turning it round and round...or mashing the face buttons when you are in a takedown or submission.
Graphics are very good for this kind of game. You can actually see the skin ripple in every hit. The animations are decent as well.
Online can get a bit laggy. Sometimes moves are somewhat unresponsive. But after a few fights it goes away. Its very fun to beat up a friend and talk smack while you do it. For PS3 users, there is no custom soundtracks. Yet, you'll be so concentrated on the fight you wont even be able to listen to the announcers very often. Out of a fight the soundtrack is really good too. Much better then other sports games. They actually put in music you want to listen to, not stuf just recorded for the game like a Madden. Yet, it would be nice to listen to the stuff you have on your system.
Trophies/Achievements are very good for a fighting game. Although there arent many, they will keep you busy trying to get them and they are something to really be proud of once you get them. Just completing all the tasks in the tutorial will get you one. Which is something I recommend. So you can get all the controls and different types of moves down.
Definitely buy this game if you're a fan of fighting genre and/or the UFC.
