Turok held a lot of promise, but a poor campaign experience and abysmal online ruined any potential Turok had.
It also came up with a new idea too. Getting the dinos to attack your other, not so friendly human adversaries. That didn't work as well as you'd hope. It doesn't last long enough to gain any headway against the evil dudes or the dinos. And once again, the knife seemed to be the weapon of choice against them. But some strange reason, the bad humans don't bleed. On an "M" rated game, you'd expect to see some blood when to shank somebody, or a stream of blood when you rip the knife across their throat. Not in Turok. You get a slapped together spark animation that shows you how lazy the game developers were.
And to show you more developer laziness, the online is an absolute crap heap. I've never played with garbage online before, but Turok changed that. People move and glitch like it's part of the game, and they just run around trying to knife you. The online is shallow and a waste of time. Don't even play it online if you have the choice. The game has a few charms, which is why I gave it higher than a 5, but there are far too many issues with the game to give it a higher score. If the developers had actually put effort into the game, Turok could have been a force to reckon with. But with flaws and lack of commitment, Turok won't last any longer than 5 hours in an XBOX, but it will be stay a while in the dump bins in game stores everywhere.
