Doing the same thing over and over again

User Rating: 5 | Turbo Dismount (Early Access) PC

The premise is simple, put a dummy in a vehicle, set up some ramps and obstacles, and send the vehicle off into oncoming traffic, or whatever the level gives you. The more you trash the dummy and the vehicle the more points you score.

Wrecking havoc is fun, there is no denying that, but that is pretty much all the game has to offer. You can adjust the obstacle layout to give a better chance of scoring big points, but ultimately the only way of climbing the high score table is to try over and over again until you get a lucky run. There is no concept of completion, you complete a level simply by running it once, after that you can try again for a higher score. The game has a selection of levels to play in, and an abundance of user-created levels, but there is only so many ways to smash a car, and the shallow gameplay stays shallow no matter what level you play in

Save for the ugly artwork, the game feels like something that could be a mini-game in Just Cause or Saints Row, an amusing distraction that only lasts as long as the novelty of the mayhem.
