This is an abysmal game that will leave many gamers thinking that the 10 bucks they spent could have bought lunch.

User Rating: 2 | Trigger Man PS2
I was fortunate enough to have gotten this game for free a few days back as a gift from the in-laws. However, I was very unfortunate that I opened it up. To put it bluntly, TriggerMan is probably one of the worst games I have ever played.

For starters, the first thing I noticed is that this game is supposed to be some sort of take on a mobster scenario. Wouldn't one think that if the game intended to have such a deep storyline, that it would hire some actors to voice over the dialogue? Not to mention that the dialogue itself is drab and disposable. Triggerman is trying to appeal to players that enjoy movies such as the Godfather, but it falls extrememly short of this, barely managing to hash out a useful 3 paragraphs of intriguing information.

Moreover, the gameplay found here is just outright dispsoable. The first level of this game looks like something that would barely suffice as a PS1 game. The graphics look like someone connected Lincoln Logs together and made an FMV game out of it. When you first enter this level, one notices that one has a bottomless pit of ammunition right next to where you start, which makes for a fun time backtracking after you have dumped 30 bullets into one enemy that you couldn't get a head shot on. The in-game obstacles are bland at best, featuring some lovely slot machines and trash cans that all look exactly the same.

Also, the AI here is pretty ridiculous. The computer-controlled badguys look like something out of Virtua Cop and could not shoot the broad side of a barn. The good thing for them however, is that all of them seem to have bulletproof skin and they each take around 10 bullets to take down, unless you are fortunate enough to get in a headshot. I would almost go out on a limb and say that it is more fun to take your knife out and charge all of them.
That is more rewarding than having to backtrack after you kill two enemies and reload your entire bullet supply.

Gamers can appreciate the cost of this game though, at a mere 10 dollars nowadays. If you need a good coaster, look no further. Your Corona will love you forever. And trust me, playing TriggerMan you will need a few.
