Transformers Fall of Cybertron takes place during the final days of the Cybertronian war between the Autobots and Decepticons. Megatron and his followers are winning the war. Optimus and the rest of the Autobots are trying to get the arc of the planet and escape to earth. In this game you take control both sides and see the struggles they have during the War.
Gameplay wise it is really good. The game has enough variety in gameplay to make it interesting no matter what you play. From the different main guns, to heavy guns, vehicle types and power ups makes it plain fun to play the game in the way you see fit. The enemies also have enough variety to not get generic or boring during the singleplayer. You have different ways to appreach the situation during singleplayer. Going in guns blazing or trying to pick off enemies before they see you in different levels. It's always changing up. Even though the levels might be very linear, they give you enough of a choice to approach the situation and the gunfight how you want to approach it. The mulitplayer also holds enough polish in Escalation mode and Multiplayer mode. In Escalation mode you try to hold off enemies with different enemies coming each round giving it enough variety to enjoy and give the player a challenge. The multiplayer also works really well. and compliments the style you want to play. You can choose between five classes and upgrade it the deeper you get into multiplayer
The story is all about the atrocities and loss of war. The game might not be as dark or serious as other games, but it does get the message through and takes itself serious enough when it has to and cracks some jokes when it has to. It has a very well paced singleplayer with great dialogues and cutscenes. There are a few levels where transitioning between Decepticons and Autobots are seamless and it is very well done for continueing the story without having another cutscene, and it takes in the middle of all the action.
The sound design is very good, from exploding.bots to the different sounds of the weapons. They have also nailed the robot sounds very well The voice acting in this game is also top notch. The emotions and the overall tone of the game is very well handled even though they are just robots.
The graphics are also great in its design and rarely has any framerate issues or any issues with the graphics. The graphics works to the game and the style of the game. It is different and distinctive from the movies so it tries to do something on it's own and not relying on something else.
There is enough value for anyone in this game to enjoy, the singleplayer is good enough to actually go through one more time to collect all the audio logs and blue prints to give it a good value. Same goes with the Escalation mode and Multiplayer mode.
