Great Time-Attack based game. Has its flaws, but is an overall great game in the end.

I can start off by saying this is the first Track Mania game in the series I've played, and is also the only one I've played. Unlike other popular racing games like F-Zero or Mario Kart, Track Mania's entire gameplay is based on how fast you can finish a track without any obstacles but the walls around you.

The game in Single-Player mode has three different types of rcing modes you can do, all of which include beating 3 other "pre-race" cars. The one mode you'll find yourself playing throughout the game is Stadium mode where you drive on a basic racing track with a race car. The two other modes are Desert mode where you drive in the desert on puzzling tracks, and Rally mode where you drive what seems like a normal car that is almost impossible to turn.

Muti-play mode on your custom made tracks is probably the most entertaining part of the game. There's three ways you can play with another person. In Hotseat mode, you race then pass the DS to your friend when you complete the track until someone gets the best score. In Download Play mode, you can play with your friend at the same time racing, but can only do Stadium mode, and can't use Custom Stages. In the third mode, Multi-Card play, you can play with a friend who has the game on any stage, including custom ones.

In conclusion, Track Mania has it's ups and downs, but is best worth buying if you get a friend to buy the game, too.
