TrackMania DS looks and feels just like the PC versions.

User Rating: 9.5 | TrackMania DS DS
TrackMania series have been popular on PC. Now, they're on DS too. But is it as good on DS as it's on PC? Yes, it is.

Graphics: 9/10
The graphics are no worse than the ones in the PC version. Everything looks very realistic in the game. The cars, tracks... everything. However, I don't give 10/10 for the graphics because they're not unique - they are from the PC versions.

Sounds: 9/10.
Everything looks realistic - and sounds realistic too.

Gameplay: 9/10.
The controls are very simple. A is acceleration. B is brake and reverse. D-pad turns the car.
There are 75 race tracks ready to play on in the game, divided into five difficulties. Each of these difficulties is divided into three environments. So each difficulty/environment combination has five tracks. The fifth one is always locked. To play on it, you need to gain "coppers" on other tracks first and then use them to unlock the fifth track.
Each of these 75 tracks has three medals. The higher medal you get, the more "coppers" you will get.
You can use coppers to buy new tracks, cars and blocks that you can use in your custom tracks.
There are also platform levels. They're very hard tracks with no time limit, and you just have to get to the finish without too many resets.
Finally, there are puzzles. They are a tutorial for the editor. You have to connect the start to the finish with a limited amount of blocks. Then you will have to drive through the track as quickly as possible.

Editor: 10/10
One of TrackMania's best features has always been the ability to make your own tracks. The editor is awesome in the DS version.
First, you will select one of the three environments: Stadium, Desert and Rally. Each one has an unique set of different building blocks.
To make your own tracks, you will select a block you want to use from the bottom bar. The blocks are divided into different groups so can find the right one faster. After selecting a block, you will drag it to where you want it to be. Then you will select the next block and so on. You can also select a pencil tool and draw your track quickly.
After your track is done, you can save it. There's space for dozens of tracks. And, if you have a friend with TrackMania DS, you can share your tracks.

If you have played the computer TrackManias and liked them, you will like this game too. If you haven't, this game is worth trying.
