It's more fun playing with your friends or family but doesn't last very long.

User Rating: 5 | Disney/Pixar Toy Story Mania! WII
With Toy Story 3 on its way to Cinema's for the summer. Just last year I think there was some kind of Shooting ride which was released at Disneyland at Disney's California Adventure and Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park. Disney Interactive released a game based on Pixar's film series Toy Story for the Nintendo Wii. There isn't a story or a spin-off to the series; this is a game where you can take a break from playing other main games like Mario or Final Fantasy.

Gameplay: If you've played shooting games in Arcades like House of the Dead and Time Crisis series. If you've ever been to Fairgrounds/Carnivals they would have games like shooting targets or ring-tosses most of the games that you see in real life are in Toy Story Mania which are simple and easy to play for anyone. Like in the Arcades or if you've played other party games and shooter games on your Wii you can aim your Wii Remote at the screen and fire at almost anything that you see flying at you.
There is no ammo or bullets for Toy Story mania unlike most arcade games you have to shoot outside the screen in order to reload. You'll also be tilting the Wii remote as well because one of the mini games is you have to get the ball from the start to the end without the ball falling into the holes. It does remind you of one or two PS3 games like Super Rub-a-Dub that have the same idea by tilting the controller and moving the object.

It's more fun playing with your friends or family you can play up to 4 players but the fun doesn't last very long. There are 5 Carnival area's based on each of charcters in the Toy Story series you've got a Western Theme based from Woody's Round-Up, Star Command from the TV show from the Toy Story series who is Buzz Lightyear, and a Farm/Fairytale theme by helping Bo Peep's farm.

There are a few mini games which are really simple to do and very easy to beat. You have to shake the Wii Remote to shake certain objects like emptying Ham's money or freeing Bullseye from being stuck in a cage and earn more points.

You can play through the game and earn tokens which can be used to unlock more mini-games and play through certain mini-games in 3D which you'll notice why the game comes with 3D glasses.

Graphics and Sound: The graphics and animation are nicely done for a Wii game at least. Most of the Carnival levels look pretty dull and boring but there will be a lot of stuff moving and flying everywhere so you'll have to be quick to fire at something. You can play through certain levels in 3D if you have a pair of 3D galsses but they don't make the game any more fun it just makes it a little harder to see where you are shooting and aiming at your TV screen.

It's just a cheap pair of 3D glasses that have the Blue and Red on each side, it would be better if they used the proper quality 3D glasses that you can get in Cinemas or when 3D becomes more popular for gaming.

If you've seen Toy Story 1 and 2 you've still got the main voice actors for charcters like Woody who was played by Tom Hanks, Tim Allen who played Buzz Lightyear, and Wallace Shawn who played Rex. But most of the voices for the charcters seem a little off and don't pretty much sound the same as the films were. The Music can feel a little boring and repetitive to listen so don't expect the soundtrack for the game have any music from Randy Newman's work like "You've got a Friend in me" because there isn't it's mainly Carnival/Fairground music.

Overall: Fans of the Toy Story series will probably find this game really easy and simple for anyone out there who's into Disney games. If you have kids it's probably worth renting before buying because you might be abit ripped off on the price and how much there's little to do. There's nothing much to do once you've beaten most of the Mini Games you can clear the game in one sitting your better of waiting for Toy Story 3 to be released this summer or wait for it on Blu-Ray or DVD.
