A good movie tie in but doesn`t live up to the standards of all the other versions of this game.

User Rating: 6.5 | Disney/Pixar Toy Story 3 DS
I have to say that I love the video game of Toy Story 3. It`s one of its kind and probably one of the only great movie tie ins there ever will be. But this version, like most DS versions of any multiplatform video game, is different. But even though it`s different it is still a very fun game. The Story Mode of the game is the same but with only some minor differences like recording your own Alien Voice and stuff. It also seems shorter and less characters are seen but overall it remains the same. Now here`s the biggest difference. The Toy Box Mode or Mini Adventures Mode is replaced a 3D Tower Defense styled game and it`s called Playtime. Playtime may not be as fun as the Toy Box Mode or Mini Adventures Mode but it is fun in its own way. The object of Playtime is that you have to go through 10 Waves and a Boss Wave without you base being destroyed. To prevent you base from being destroyed you have to build toy towers what can be upgraded twice to become very powerful. When Playtime ends it shows your scores and you then return to what you were doing before. The best feature in the Playtime Mode is that you can call friends (or as Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts fans would like to call it "Summons") to help you defeat more enemies easily. The friends are Rex, Hamm, Slinky and the Aliens. Sadly these friends don`t hurt the bosses so you have to rely on your towers for that. The major flaws of this game is that it isn`t as good as the other versions and suffers from horrendous voice acting. Still it is great fun for anyone to play. I`m giving this version a 6.5 out of 10 because of its simply fun atmosphere but sadly lacks the content from the other versions.
