Best total war game was, is and will be (at least to another realease) the medieval 2. Not for the graphics, not for the difficulty, not for the complexity or playability, but for the immense number of mods. This mods make me play this game for years and I am still curious abot some aspects or I simply wait for another release of Stainless Steel Mod. Shogun 2 looks great, battles are very fun to perform but when You win campaign with one clan, playing with another is imitative and differ only by the provinces and units. Strategy of victory is the same. The one and only tactiic for battles is Yari samurai and not to attack, but only to defend (this is supreme tactic in every game in this series). Very nice castle sieges, but also very easy to defend castles, even the smallest army can sometimes defeat very large elite opponent. Still I recommend this game for climate. Personally, after a few hours of playing, I'v started to look for a book about history of medieval Japan or for new Japan historical movies. Worth buying. (sorry for my english :P)
