Why did they remove it :(

Well, apart from just playing it for the 1st time, i was wondering why the the makers of Total War took out the pause during battles where you could change your stragegy during fights, look for enemy weaknesses etc. In this game, when you pause the game, you get the pause menu i.e quit, options or resume game. Why did they all of a sudden remove the pause from the previous games. It sure came in handy when your armies are all over the place and wanted to deploy them in other areas of the battlefield. For me, it was a stupid mistake to get rid of it :(.

No, you can pause, fast forward time etc in the top right of the screen - they didn't remove it, don't worry!

Unless you are playing the game with battle realism on (more fun but more challenging) then you should be able to pause and give orders and what not, no worries.
