After so many games in series still something worthing to play for a long time.

Still I have not finish the game.

I have two Long Campaigns in progress, one Shogunate / One imperial.

Both at normal difficulty for start (and have the flexibility to have a cigarette and chat with my old friends and followers of the series since the original Shogun).

The Good so far:

Battles/Units:
- Very effective gun-units. You actually see the difference
compare to Napoleon or Empire.

- Cannons that actually hit the targets. The cannons at this game worth their money and R&D. Well done.
- Think there is also improvement to the way of that the horses
are moving around... Also they are stronger compared to the
Shogun 2 that you could loose a Yari Cavalry unit against
even to bow ashigaru... (done that at early tests)

- Very nice the mixing of samurai and modern units. One
traditional dojo never goes wasted...

- Till now there is good response from the units inside a castle.

- Ships. The age with the first combustible engines detach you from the wind factor making the naval battles more quick and the armor factor with the variety of shell types (not just cannon balls) is very interesting. Till now a lot of "lucky shots" (total loss of enemy ship via explosion) its nice...

- At last the grouping of units is working on the battlefield.

Map/Management:
- Railways, interesting, still as I understand even if you have 3 areas one beside the other the railway route is pre-fixed so you cannot have the full benefit of the speed... We ll see.

- The ports are not totally undefended.

- The trade sea routes are working better now.

- Going month by month and not season by season. Its better.

- Bombardment in the battlefield... Nice...


The Bad:

Map/Management
- No option for setting level of the taxes to each city... Guys we
are loosing money here!!!

- No option for upgrading older units. This is a problem for many games of the series.

Paying lump sum could be a solution for upgrading armor and swords, also same kind of units upgrade eg range units to be upgraded to range units etc etc...

An exchange basis could be good also eg a bow unit to be converted to marksmen with the half men permanent...

-Too many buildings give/take modernization points. I think a fewer number could be better... Still to see.

- No alternative to upgrade the roads... in the early steps could be beneficial and the extra income is welcome.

- Why did they cut the videos for assassinations etc etc They were Classic!!!!
