I just picked up Rome II on Steam for $15. After reading all the initial reviews in 2013 - and the multitude of reported glitches - I decided it would be best to wait this one out. And I am certainly glad I did. Not only is the current game flawless, it is the most intelligent and immersive game in the Total War series. I've been playing the series since the original Medieval Total War, and I have to say that I have been really surprised by how much they've gotten right with this game.
The political system makes sense, the variety of units, the recruiting process and the overall immersion is really first rate.
I now can't wait for the next installment of the series. Great job Creative Assembly!
